I vaguely remember this game. George MacLean hit the bar....Puskas scored near the end. Gubbed 5....1 at the Bernabeau in the away game

 

PS bought the programme on ebay....£6

 

pps....check out the refs background.....just seen it

He probably winced at every tackle then went in that night. :D

Yes I remember that tie. Cost 10 bob to get in - a new high. Gento skipped down the wing and crossed for Puskas to score after much huffing and puffing from Rangers. Got gubbed in Spain but Puskas said Alec Willoughby was a real prospect. Unfortunately Willoughby never reached his full potential.

did Puskas exchange shirts with him after the game ?

The game against Nice mentioned in the programme above - I recall seeing a photograph from that match. It showed the keeper on the ground with the ball behind him in the net. There was a Rangers fan, scarf aloft in front of him. It looked as if the fan had scored the goal.
