You are joking with regards the "tight" pitch theory? Stirling Albions pitch is a yard shorter in width than Ibrox. This is up there with the "huge" pitch at the Camp Nou myth' date=' which is basically the same size as most top flight pitches[/quote']

Camp Nou is a small pitch. Anyone who has been there would know that.

People assume it's a large pitch because the tall, steep stands and the high TV gantry give off that impression.

Surely nobody is going to say that 2 yards in breadth is the reason for a full time Rangers team not being able to dominate a game against part-time opposition. Tannadice is smaller than Stirlings pitch and I have never heard the pitch getting the blame there.

What's the pitch size @ Ibrox???

Edit: Found it (SFL website

Pitch Dimensions:105m x 68m

Compared to

Pitch Dimensions:101m x 68m
for Stirling Albion...

Same width, but slight difference in length

the fact people want to talk about pitch sizes as an excuse shows how desperate they are to hang onto a failing manager.

Don't often agree with you mate :), but this is a joke of an excuse if ever i've heard one. There is no system for us, the players are lazy and look like the don't have a clue out there and the buck stops with the manager here.

The width of the pitch is really pretty irrelevant considering that everything we did/tried on Saturday went straight down the middle - there was absolutely no width at all in the team.

The Binos knew exactly how we were gonna play, and ensured adequate defensive cover in the required areas, which left no room for us to get a decent strike on goal.

It's an excuse that has been touted by many inc. coaching staff since we started in Div3. The facts show there is no excuse there.

As for all the other excuses ie. Team gelling, match practice, just out of admin, new setups etc.....these have all now faded. The team should be able to work together by now.
