Sir david murray takes legal action over tax leaks

Recommended Posts

Could this be posturing from SDM? Could he be doing this in the hope that a deal can be done where HMRC don't appeal and he drops his legal threat? If it was shown that a high ranking HMRC employee was leaking info it would be embarrassing for them and a good lawyer could point to it prejudicing him, MIH and Rangers, damaging his reputation and leading to business problems for him and his companies. HMRC might not fancy that fight.

Why wait until after the appeal verdict? It is illegal regardless of the outcome surely?

It looks like he was waiting for the verdict first. Would he not have had a strong case that all of the leaked evidence that was in the public domain was prejudicial to the outcome and appealed the verdict? Either way he was going to court over this.

This is something that HMRC must be aware of.

in the biggest sporting scandal the country has ever seen

Sorry but I totally disagree with this and whilst I hate all the BJK posturing that gets done, the biggest sporting scandal is protecting an abuser imo. What's some money against ruining children's lives?
