On another sidenote, has anyone actually said who will be the 2 additional teams in the 12-12-18 line-up? And while i am at sidenotes ... an FF chap put it this way ... As we were told in the summer, there are strict rules on promotion and relegation. We were not actually relegated in the summer as there was no mechanism to relegate us from the spl to the sfl3. There is also no mechanism to promote a team that finishes bottom of the sfl3. Covered by rule 93 of the Sfl. As the team that finishes bottom of the sfl3 cannot be promoted, then if we are in the same division as said bottom placed team, then we have not been promoted. If we have not been promoted, they are not allowed to disband the SFL. 85. RESTRICTION ON DISSOLUTION It shall not be competent to resolve to wind up the League with the purpose or effect of then re-forming a National Association Football League within three years of the date of the resolution to wind up which shall exclude any club formerly in membership of the League or which shall exclude a club formerly in membership of the League from being promoted to a higher division of such League where it had a legitimate expectation of such promotion when a member of the League, unless such club shall consent in writing to such exclusion; and in the event of such a resolution being passed and such circumstances arising within the said three year period such resolution shall be null and void and treated as such ab initio. That means that both halves of the Old Firm will now have a meaningless title this year. DB, there are 42 clubs already (12 SPL and 3 x 10 in the SFL). The point from FF about the dissolution of the league is a good one, but I'm sure if they want to get around it they will. For one thing, we are not full members of the SFL at present. We don't have the influence of a seat at the table so this sets out our position very clearly. In my view, the only sensible course of action is to merge league bodies and agree the financial redistribution model as phase 1 (in time for next year). With phase 2 kicking off over the summer to agree a suitable league structure for the start of 2014/15, giving due consideration for all options and consultation with all clubs and fan bodies.
