Francisco Sandaza Sacked

Recommended Posts

The minimum time for an employee to make a claim for unfair dismissal is one year, other than for cases of discrimination. The tribunal route is closed to Sandaza.

Is it realistic to believe that Ally would have wanted him to stay? Sandaza at no time has shown that playing for Rangers means much to him and Ally will probably be happy to see the back of him.

Off to court we go as Sandaza is going to a tribunal for unfair dismissal, think he's in for a shock tbh.

If he has a confidentiality clause in his contract (I dont know his contract so just surmising) then he is screwed because he broke that clause.

you have to hope the contract is clear.

i actually don't think it should be hard to find out. iirc all players sign the same contract not just at rangers but alloa etc. it may be specific to the sfl and different from spl but basically the same.

Let's just hope there's not a second contract!

Don't know who this taxi driver guy is but as I've said before he done Charles, Ally and the fans a big favour - Sandaza was rank for us, there was no way anybody would have bought him off us with the attitude he has shown, he wasn't interested in playing football.

Whether it is right or wrong he was sacked is neither here nor there as far as I'm concerned I'm just delighted he was sacked 'cos he was a disaster in that jersey and was taking money out of the club under false pretences - GOOD RIDDANCE FRAN!

I'm almost 100% certain that there is Craig. I don't know the specifics of the confidentiality/non-disclosure aspect obviously, but all players definitely have it in their contract. I get the impression that it relates to them not being allowed to disclose specific salary figures because players seem to get away with skirting around it by using percentages on the rare occasions that they actually speak about contract negotiation figures. Alexander saying Green offered him 65% less than had previously been agreed was the most recent example.

Mark Hateley: I've no sympathy for Francisco Sandaza

SOME say it reeks of brutality. And I understand their point of view.

Rangers have always gone about their business in a more discreet and less confrontational style. In fact, the club has prided itself on attempting to do things in an amicable manner.

So yes, I get it if supporters feel uneasy with some of the things that have gone on over the past week or so. It’s not the Rangers way to throw around bans and to bullet people so ruthlessly.

But then again, there’s another side of me which can’t help but agree with the way Charles Green is laying down the law inside Murray Park because I’d probably do things much the same way if I were in charge.

That’s not to say I don’t feel sorry for at least some of the victims of what appears to be developing into a bloody summer cull. Neil Alexander, for example, has done little wrong other than to show loyalty to the club during its darkest days and in an ideal world I would like to see that loyalty reciprocated with a new two-year contract for the keeper.

But that’s the point. Rangers right now could hardly be any further away from an ideal world. And so some very tough decisions have to be made by those in charge.

Let’s start with Fran Sandaza who was sacked by Green on Wednesday night. I’m sorry, call me a hard hearted so-and-so but I have no sympathy at all for this one. As far as I’m concerned, the Spaniard has been his own worst enemy and got what he deserved for being a stupid, stupid boy. In my book it’s very simple. Anyone who bad mouths the club or who doesn’t want to be there should be escorted off the premises at the first opportunity.

Sandaza broke that golden rule when he was suckered into discussing the details of his contract in a prank call. He made it clear he was only at the club for the money and, for me, that’s an unacceptable admission.

When you sign for Rangers it can’t all be about the financial rewards. If it is then you are in the wrong place. There also has to be an appreciation of what it means to pull on that shirt and of the expectations you have agreed to carry. That doesn’t change, no matter if you’re on £50 a week or fifty grand. If you don’t appreciate the club and the fans then you don’t deserve to wear the badge.

By being stupid enough to disclose confidential information to a guy he had never even spoken to before, Sandaza treated Rangers and the supporters with contempt. He let himself and the club down and for that he had to pay the penalty.

Some will argue sacking the guy is way too harsh. And I can see some sense in suggestions that Green has manipulated this situation in order to get a big-earning underachiever off the wage bill.

You could say that’s highly cynical behaviour. Or you could say it’s simply good business. Sandaza shouldn’t have got involved and this should serve as a warning to his former team-mates. They must learn to respect their club and to behave accordingly.

If I was Green I’d be telling them all that no such slips will be tolerated. I’m not saying the guys should be terrified of getting bumped every time they open their mouths but they have to realise there is a certain responsibility involved in being a Rangers player.

If truth be told, players can’t always be trusted to act in the right way so sometimes it makes sense to remove all possible excuses.

I wouldn’t allow any of them on Twitter or on any social network because that’s where they leave themselves wide open, tweeting about what they’re doing or where they are going after training. What’s that all about?

The internet is rife with people who want to do these guys harm. Just look at the delight there has been out there over what happened to chief scout Neil Murray – suspended and then relieved of his duties after an internal probe into last summer’s transfers.

The place went into meltdown, with all sorts of accusations flying and, to an extent, that was probably because of the way in which Murray’s situation was handled by the club. From the outside, it was a messy business and I can’t claim to know the details of what it was all about.

But what does seem obvious to me is that Green and Murray had a difference of opinion and that there was only ever going to be one winner. It looks very much as if Green wants to ring the changes and, with Pip Yeates also gone, the restructuring now appears to be well under way. Again, I have to say, not before time.

I can only assume Green wants to bring in his own men and make changes he feels will improve the club. Unfortunately, for Alexander, it looks like the keeper will be just another casualty. This is a guy I do feel some sympathy for because he was prepared to stay when many others couldn’t wait to get away. There is a strong argument that he deserves a two-year deal in return.

But Green goes about his business in a different way. And it’s hard to argue that any player should be getting that kind of money for playing in whatever lower division Rangers wind up in next season. That’s not a dig at Neil because he has done nothing wrong.

But I believe the players have been overpaid for where they are. So now the club is beginning to stabilise and will soon be able to sign players, those kind of big-money deals will be whittled down. It’s harsh but it’s also the reality of the Rangers situation
