rangers statement on todays board meeting.

Recommended Posts

Good strong statement in my book.

Might be wrong, but this should neutralise a lot of the innuendo etc in the meantime.

We're basically saying that WE will find out all the facts - not the press, not the SFA but us.

I personally think this is a first class way forward. I'm sick of trial by media or cabal.

This is going on to the front foot and dealing with things in the correct manner.

I'm happier.

Maybe it's just me, but the more I think about it the more that reads like Green and Ahmad have been suspended pending the outcome of an independent investigation. We just can't say they have until we've informed AIM. It's an independent investigation becuase the board's fractured and with Green and Ahmad unable to vote Zeus Capital have lost their majority

Pure speculation of course

I highly doubt Green would have attended the game if suspended.

Seriously though. Does that statement not read as if the Green's going to be dealing with the SFA on his own and not as an active CEO of the club?

No, it is to distance rangers from his remark...it was something he said as an individual, not something he said on behalf of the Club

"Mr. Green will deal with the pending S.F.A. charge on this matter on a personal basis"

While he's the CEO he is a representative of the club. There's no way of putting distance between the two. The SFA sure as hell won't see him as an individual whether he's still CEO or not. As far as they're concerned he said it while he was performing his club duties.

If it was something he said in a personal conversation I could see your point, but it was something he said in an interview acting as CEO of the club.

The racist remark isn't even the most serious issue, but it could have been used as one of a bunch of reasons for asking Green to step down.
