Scottish Cup Final. What a day. In the Stand with my dad. Some timz in at our end for some reason behind us. Two old codgers (about my age now, probably) - I would have chinned them otherwise for what they called wee Alex McDonald as he lay poleaxed at half time. I so enjoyed saying goodbye to them as they left. The singing and celebrations after the full time whistle were awesome. 122,000 officially, many more methinks! Royalty. Parlane! Alfie before he became a traitor and then, of all people, big Tam with the "pile-driver" of a winner. I was deemed too young for the 1970 final (a bitter family row) and had therefore suffered many years of losing leagues and cups to them....what a sweet victory this one was.

I was in the Boys' Enclosure that day.

DJ's header hit the near post, ran along the line and hit the far post, before big Tam studded the ball over the line. The scene around me was the Bouncy(before the Bouncy had been introduced). Fellow Bears celebrating twice before exploding in relief.

Vaguely remember watching on telly (i was 7). I think the match was civered live (by one of the three terrestrial channels available) - Sky must have missed out on the bidding war.

Big Tam was a real local hero as he stayed in Stonehouse. The thunderbolt turned him into a Demi-God in these parts

This is the earliest Larkhall street party I can remember- I don't think the cross was blocked though
