Rangers open legal proceedings with the Daily Record

Now wait, it is probably this bit by MD

Daily Record bunglers determined to commit suicide

The dwindling coterie of Bluenoses inside the Record’s HQ are in despair as the news of Record editor Alan Rennie’s latest lunacy spreads through the building.

Rangers complained about the Pierre van Hoojidonk story of 24th May which appeared on the banner headline CHEATS - he alleged Rangers cheated Celtic out of titles when he was in Scotland despite EBT’s not being in operation at the time.

Almost unbelievably the heid bummers responded to the complaint from Rangers by claiming that the club playing at Ibrox now didn’t exist in 1996!

The journos on the frontline can’t believe the stupidity of taking such a line and the beleaguered marketing department was reported to be “speechless” when the news filtered through.

A letter from Rangers lawyers had arrived at Central Quay and the Press Complaints Commission put on notice - the Record then responded claiming that Rangers International plc didn’t come into being as an investment company last year and therefore the club didn’t exist in 1996.

So does the headline refer to the letter send by Rangers, or has there been some new developement?

For their response alone their heads should roll. Utter and blatant bias and straight-faced lying.

Our club must demand the removal of Rennie as the editor, at the very least here.

Peter won't allow that.

Reference the OP, it's only Saturday last on BBC Radio Scotland that Cosgrove and Phil Differ were discussing the red tops approach to the Scottish game and referring to the Record as 'the Daily Ranger'. The paper that now produces ra Sellik View and Sellik's matchday programme must still be called the Daily Ranger for the mindset and what passes for humour to work.

I don't agree, they can have whoever they like as editor.

It's up to us as fans to grow a backbone and stop funding people who hate us.

Quite honestly the Daily Rhebel should have been banned from Ibrox long ago along with BBC Scotland, Radio Snyde & certain so-called journalists too. I presume as a result of this they'll now be banned ?
