Referee Martin Atkinson made an initial inspection at 1815 GMT, but with the fog thickening, the official decided to call the game off at 1845 GMT. With both teams involved in four competitions, no date has yet been given for when this Carling Cup tie can be played at Anfield. The amount of games these 2 have to play now is silly. R.B. 0 Posted December 20, 2006 Share Posted December 20, 2006 To be fair to Rafa and Wenger the fog lifted by the time the game was supposed to kick off, the game could have easily been played at 7.45. Imo the ref could have delayed the game for half an hour and see how the conditions develop. The match will take place only three days after the two clubs meet in an FA Cup third round tie at Anfield. Wednesday night's scheduled tie on Merseyside was called off an hour before kick-off because of heavy fog.
