Prior - I Want Stockbridge Out

Recommended Posts

Commons working his ticket and starting an inter club war. Samaras and Ledley both out of contract in 6 months too. It's all coming together nicely for our return in just over a year.

On this topic, i want to hear why Prior wants Stockbridge out. Not that i trust either man right enough.

Rangers investor Kieran Prior reveals he'll vote against Brian Stockbridge at agm and vows to increase his stake to 15 per cent

LONDON-based shareholder Prior wants finance director Stockbridge axed along with James Easdale due to a lack of proper corporate governance at Ibrox.

RANGERS investor Kieran Prior has laid his cards on the table and revealed he wants Brian Stockbridge out of Ibrox.

The City of London financier will also vote against James Easdale at the forthcoming agm as he pledged to provide an economic safety net if it’s needed in the new year.

Prior owns 2.3 per cent of Rangers and has outlined plans to increase his stake up to 15 per cent within the next six months.

He’s abstained from voting for the requisitioners, led by Paul Murray, who want a seat on the board at the agm on Thursday that will prove pivotal to the future of the club.

And he’s also abstained from voting for chairman David Somers and chief executive Graham Wallace until they prove they can lead the club from the turbulence of the last three years.

Prior has put his head above the parapet as he contemplates the future of the club he’s supported since he was a kid growing up in Manchester.

He spoke of several concerns ahead of the meeting at Ibrox – not least the controversial resolutions nine and 10.

This ultimately allows directors to approach anyone of their choosing, without the backing of existing shareholders, and look for loans that can be converted to penny shares.

Prior told Record Sport: “I have voted against the reappointment of Brian Stockbridge, James Easdale and Norman Crighton as directors.

“They are all culpable. In the last six months I was promised proper corporate governanace, greater stability and that concerns of fans would be listened to.

“None of that has happened. A number of board members must accept responsibility.

“However, the nail in Stockbridge’s coffin are resolutions nine and 10 at the agm. That whole concept is disgusting and unfair.”

On plans to increase his shareholding, Prior added: “My stake will go above 10 per cent within the next six months, maybe to 15 per cent and I could become the biggest individual shareholder at the club.”

Prior obviously feels that he was effectively lied to....surely that entitles him to change his mind. What he was originally told (which impressed him) has obviously not happened & therefore he will not back those responsible - this is a feeling that may be shared with many other IPO investors.

Since the IPO last year, the share price has more than halved - that represents a considerable loss for institutional investors.
