Little General 80 Posted May 15, 2015 Share Posted May 15, 2015 I normally go on the Underground (via the Hayburn pub). when I was growing up in Whiteinch it was Merkland Street to Copland Road, now Partick to Ibrox. I lived on the south side until I was 30 but bear in mind I was refereeing from age 15 to 33 so mostly only saw midweek games. I lived in Shawlands so as a youngster if I recall there was a bus from Minard Rd that went over to Ibrox, couldn't tell you the number. When I finished refereeing I was involved in Amateur Football and in England for a while but from the mid 80's I would have had the car. However, I have a strong recollection of getting the Underground like you to Copland Rd as a boy and having to stand in those enormously long queues on the way back.
