Backroom Staff Changes: Gordon Durie and Head of Sports Science, Jim Henry, have left

Recommended Posts

Absolutely, but I'm more concerned as to why he's been coaching at Murray Park if he doesn't have all of his coaching badges and then on top of that why he hasn't done the coaching badges since being employed by us.

I'm not concerned about it.... but purely because I am happy to see the "jobs for the boys" mentality left where it firmly needs to be... in the PAST.

Hopefully new requirements are being put in place at all levels. I know for sure that at the youth level that there are coaches who are very highly thought of... but won't be allowed an Academy team until they get the requisite badges - they have to remain as coaches in the community.

Durrant is doing well with the youngsters

Durrant has limited ability. They have tried him in every position because that's what we do. He's one of the tired old crew with no fresh ideas. I've had the displeasure of being in his company and he should not represent our club. Wonderful player, but now a classless little arse.

Durie was a real doom and gloom looking dreary fecker around the place. Durrant next please.

Maybe so and he hasn't really done much as a coach. Ive fond memories of Durie the player, thought he was a cracking signing and did very well for us but unfortunately coaching wise was just another job for the boys guy.

As its been discussed and I cant get this point across enough - there is and always is a open door to be welcome at the club for ex players (excluding those who pissed off in 2012) but as for jobs it has to be the right ones and not the drink together play together attitude. Weir fits perfectly to this category.
