Fans can decide their Player and Young Player of the Season below now – with the Goal of the Season Award to follow – and the results will be revealed at the gala dinner late next month. Mark Warburton’s side have impressed throughout 2015/16 as the Light Blues close in on a return to Scotland’s top flight, as well as reaching the Petrofac Cup final and the Scottish Cup semi final, and a number of players are worthy of recognition. Club Captain Lee Wallace has led by example all season at left back and he joins midfielder Jason Holt, defensive star Rob Kiernan, goalkeeper Wes Foderingham and Academy graduate Barrie McKay in the running for the coveted Player of the Year honour. Barrie, so impressive on the flanks, is also nominated in the Young Player of the Year category – joining Dominic Ball, Ryan Hardie, Gedion Zelalem and Liam Burt, who recently made his first-team debut. Greatest Ever Ranger John Greig will also have his say as he selects his man of the season for a special Achievement Award and the players themselves must decide on their own Player of the Season. Voting is now open and closes on Friday 8 April. Jason Holt for POTY Barrie McKay for YPOTY While everyone is allowed their opinion, anyone voting for anyone else is just plainly wrong!! How Waghorn & Tav never made it onto the shortlist while Kiernan did goes a long way to backing up what I have always said about polls like this, an absolute nonsense. Granted he is a cert for young player of the year though and not many will agree with me. But I think his contribution has been absolutely terrific. In a difficult position to be consistant. To be fair this is the new system the club ave adopted based on the successful launch of club1872 , what we have here is not the final list , but it gives us something to work to , then after the first round of voting , the general support can shape the new list as it seems fit .
