The story I heard was that he phoned up Celtic Park looking for tickets and they didn't believe it was him so he never got them so SDM asked him to the Rangers game. Said Rod was a quality bloke, would bring home a carry out after finishing in the studio and have all the decorators down tools to get bevvied in his snooker room. His wallpaper of choice ?? Yep....
