Warburton post match interview

Recommended Posts

I think today was a massive reality check for most of us including MW & DW

We finished last season with a squad good enough to get us promoted but no more than that.

We needed to improve the squad in the summer but most of the signings haven't exactly set the heather on fire. Even before today the signs were there in the 4 league games we were struggling.

All we can hope for now is a top three finish which will get us into the EL next season. I don't like that & I suspect the Rangers board won't either as they've allowed the manager to recruit the number of players he has without any real sign of progress

There seems little point us competing in Europe next season unless we get some proper investment.

So you don't wish us to see the revenues from European involvement ?

May not be as much as the CL but being in Europe, even if embarrassed, means increased revenues - much needed revenues at that.

You think they are going to compete in Europe? Nobody else does yet they're still over the moon to be there and playing Barca next week. No Scottish team is going to compete in Europe the best we can hope for is to be in it.

Our defending is deplorable

And is it going to get any better soon? This is where I don't get coaching....Assistant manager was one of the finest centre half's this country has produced and this is the glowing area of concern.

If Bougherra is a free agent he should be snapped up straight away.

Was a free. Signed for a Greek side just yesterday.

Gave up listening to pressers long ago as they are so repetitive with same old wording.

All you hear about is how things seem to be going so well at Auchinhowie so if that's the case bring it to the field of play please or change the wording of the pressers.

Yeah, of course. The revenues will be pretty negligible until we're actually capable of beating teams though. Unless we change things drastically, we'll be out of Europe before the summer's over next season.

We should know more than most that good players don't always make good coaches.
