IT'S WAR Sky Sports presenter David Tanner utterly slaughters former Rangers boss Mark Warburton and says ‘he won’t be missed’

Tanner took to social media to praise Pedro Caixinha before attacking the former Ibrox boss in an astonishing rant

SKY SPORTS presenter David Tanner*has SLAUGHTERED former Rangers manager Mark Warburton on social media.

The TV host*claimed that Warburton “won’t be missed” and hinted that the Englishman’s former colleagues had also been sticking the boot in.

Tanner also said the new Nottingham Forest boss was not as good a talker as Portuguese manager Pedro Caixinha – due to the fact he said so little.

Tanner was at Caixinha’s press conference today ahead of Rangers‘ match against Motherwell. And he took to Instagram afterwards to praise the Portuguese – and have a go at Warburton.Tanner said: “I met the new Rangers manager for the first time today.“Very impressed. Opinions, tactics, humour and humility. Quite a change.

“A much better talker than his predecessor but that wouldn’t be difficult, to be uncharacteristically frank with you.

“Warburton spent his time telling us he’d been “misquoted, as usual” – seems unlikely for anyone who said so little.“He won’t be missed. I spoke to some of his former-colleagues today. Ouch.”

Tanner’s out-of-the-blue attack on Warburton is sure to stun fans. And it will be interesting to see how Rangers supporters respond to the presenter in the coming days.

IMHO, media blather. When MW signed up and we saw how the first half-season went, we couldn't believe our eyes. That it turned sour later on is bad, but somesuch has happened all over the place and as of now, Pedro has been in charge for one game and whatever he says or how appears in press conferences is, at the end of the day, of next to no importance to what happens on the pitch. And we are old enough to know that judgement will be held at the end of this and during next season.

Probably you are correct in not needing this but it let's us get it off our minds what we think of Warburton.

Personally he had me considering about next season as his tactics and bland statements were starting to wear me down,so the new manager is hopefully going to negate these thoughts I had.

Warburton didn't give the press much? So what. Do the press deserve it?

There may be a lot to criticise Warburton for but his treatment of the press wouldn't make my list, unless it to say that he was too respectful of them and should have given them a harder time.

Pedro may also change his tune when the press, undoubtedly, start telling lies about him, his players, the club - it is only a matter of time - and when it happens the interesting thing will be how Pedro deals with them.
