BTW, can this verdict be appealed?

I was wondering that too. I know the prosecution can appeal what they consider to be too lenient a sentence because I have seen them do it but don't know if they can appeal a verdict. Though i'm guessing that with the dropping of double jeopardy they can call for a retrial if they come up with new evidence.

The prosecution clearly think he is guilty otherwise they wouldn't have been prosecuting in the first place.

Somewhere along the line the case fell apart. Think back to the number of folk arrested by the police. Then we have them all being free of charges. Later we have a judge criticising the charges levelled against Whyte - TWICE.

Findlay was quite correct when in his summing up he referred to the evidence against Whyte being a simple case disproven. There were emails between Murray, his solicitor and the club mentioning Whyte and Ticketus.

Whyte paid LBG, gave Murray his quid and handed over money for transfers and ground repairs as well as the small tax case. After that it's simple -------- who is he supposed to have defrauded if Murray knew about Ticketus ?

Imo Whyte, Murray and half a dozen others should have stood in the dock facing charges. But today will be the end of the whole sorry debacle . I don't think there will be too many at the crown office disappointed when a line is drawn under the lot.

The panto season is coming up so I expect Whyte will threaten to sue half the world.

He won't though.

He may sue the authorities for traducing his reputation.

He was a noted con man banned from being a director long before this issue. He put himself in the spotlight when he became involved with Rangers. Not a good idea for someone with such a past.

Almost from the beginning iirc. They arsed up on a legal technicality early on making most of the damning evidence inadmissible. Unless I dreamt that - it's a case of nightmares after all

We never get good news.

I joined forums to find out what the hell was going on five years ago. Ever since I've read thread after thread that people who tried to kill us will get their come uppance, and that sellick will be done for x, y or z.

However

We never get good news.....

....... far less recompense for the crimes done unto our club by a nation that detests us.
