RANGERS supremo Dave King paid around £20,000 for emails allegedly “hacked” from Craig Whyte, it can be revealed.

The chairman, 61, bought a batch said to have been “stolen” by Celtic fan William Stevenson, 48, between 2013 and 2014.

Whyte’s lawyer Donald Findlay QC made the claim during legal talks as he questioned prosecution evidence, which can only be reported now the trial is over.

He said: “An individual known to the Crown hacked into the computer of Mr Whyte and stole material. It was then used, putting it broadly, for potential blackmail.

“This material was recovered in some way from the thief because of a payment of a significant amount by Mr King.”

It’s understood Stevenson told Mr King he had Whyte’s permission to release data which appeared in Twitter account Charlotte Fakes — a claim denied by sources close to Whyte.

Cops were alerted after the social media revelations in 2013.

Stevenson later told us no charges were outstanding against him after cops reported him for alleged extortion and computer offences.

The Crown said it is still “under consideration”.

Mr King declined to comment.

==============================

"no charges" for Stevenson - mental! Everyone gets off scot free when it is us that is involved it seems.

This just gets more ridiculous. I have no sympathy for Whyte at all but how can hacking someone's emails for sensitive information not be illegal? There is something massively sinister going on.

Here's something less surprising but galling in the extreme:

Whyte never cleared Rangers debt Craig Whyte had £18million arrive on his personal balance sheet the day he bought Rangers, a document has revealed. Instead of paying off the debt with cash raised from Ticketus for future season-ticket sales, which was presumed at the time, the former owner instead transferred it from Lloyds Bank to his own company, and began immediately charging interest on the debt. I recall the snake saying "this club is now debt free". Except we never were even on his fraudulently gained Ticketus money and he was charging interest on the debt he hadn't paid off

And for blackmail at that, a serious crime on its own

Too many scumbags filling their boots, and too many side benefits to other vermin for there not to be.

This is old news. The deluded tramp beggar fool liar JJ has been alleging the same for months now.

His price was £25000 though.

But one tends to think whatever JJ says is untrue as per your description "fool...liar".
