EXCLUSIVE By Pete O’Rourke

Nottingham Forest have made a bid for Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham, Football Insider sources understand.

Forest boss Mark Warburton is in the market for a new goalkeeper as he looks to strengthen his goalkeeping options at the City Ground

Forest have Jordan Smith, Stephen Henderson and Dimitar Evtimov on their goalkeeping books, but Warburton is looking to bring in a new No.1 as he looks to improve on last season when they narrowly avoided relegation.

Warburton is a huge admirer of Foderingham having signed him when he was in charge of Rangers and he feels the former Crystal Palace youngster could help solve the problematic goalkeeping position at Forest.

Foderingham joined Rangers in 2015 and helped the club win promotion back to the Scottish Premiership in his first season in charge.

The 26-year-old has established himself as No.1 goalkeeper at Ibrox since his arrival at the club and he has impressed up in Scotland.

Foderingham still has two years to run on his current deal and the player is understood to be happy with life in Glasgow.

Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha would be reluctant to lose Foderingham this summer as he looks to keep hold of his best players as he aims to make a better challenge on Old Firm rivals Celtic than last season.

I think Foderingham is a very good 'keeper and should be priced as such.

I can't see him going but if we can realise a suitable amount then it may allow the manager to replace him and buy other players.

This in the Nottingha Evening Post. . . .

Warburton still hopes to add one further signing before the August 31 deadline, and with one of the deals he revealed had collapsed thought to have been for Fulham’s Kevin McDonald, it’s not unreasonable to suspect he’s in the market for another midfielder.

Consistent links to goalkeepers, including Rangers stopper Wes Foderingham and Adam Bogdan, suggest that even with Jordan Smith, Dimitar Evtimov and Stephen Henderson, the Reds boss is still looking to add further competition for places.
