Bayern Munich - Rangers were ‘forced into relegation’

Recommended Posts

Celtic hailed as DOUBLE winners by Bayern Munich as German giants say Hoops have had no competition since Rangers were ‘forced into relegation’.

Brendan Rodgers' men take on Bayern - managed by Jupp Heynckes - in the Allianz Arena tomorrow night.

BAYERN MUNICH blundered on their official website – by hailing Celtic for winning a DOUBLE last season.

Brendan Rodgers’ squad bagged an Invincibles TREBLE, staying unbeaten domestically to lift the league title, league cup and Scottish Cup.

But the German giants’ media team appeared to have missed one of the Parkhead side’s finals against Aberdeen, managed by Derek McInnes.

They also referenced Celtic’s lack of competition in the Premiership and said Rangers were “forced” into relegation in the aftermath of liquidation in 2012.

A profile on Bayern’s opponents reads: “The Old Firm match between the two clubs is the oldest and probably most historic derby in the world.

“The two clubs have dominated Scottish football for over a century, with Celtic winning a total of 48 league titles and 37 Scottish Cups.

“Since Rangers were forced into relegation in 2012, Celtic have been without serious competition, as demonstrated by their run of six consecutive titles.

“Last season, the Hoops won the Scottish Premiership by 30 points and lifted the cup to record their 15th double.”

By the looks of it, those doing the translation of the article for the Bayern website were simply using a simple German - English translation. That, and whichever paper is being quoted above is lying too, for there is no word of liquidation/administration or whatever in the German article and its translation:

Seit dem Zwangsabstieg der Rangers im Jahr 2012 ist Celtic ohne ernstzunehmende Konkurrenz, was vor allem durch sechs Meistertitel in Serie dokumentiert wird. Im Vorjahr wurde Celtic mit 30 Punkten Vorsprung Meister und holte mit dem Pokalsieg zum 15. Mal das Double.

... where "Zwangsabstieg" is google-translated as it stands, not because of any further investigation of the topic.

Since Rangers were forced into relegation in 2012, Celtic have been without serious competition, as demonstrated by their run of six consecutive titles Last season, the Hoops won the Scottish Premiership by 30 points and lifted both the Scottish Cup and League Cup to record their fourth double.

"Zwangsabstieg" is used for a variety of possible relegation issues and as it happens, it is more to the point than what the Scottish is making of it to this day, despite being far closer to the topic.

As with another recent article, the practise of using "aftermath of liquidation in 2012" with reference to our club is straight-faced lying and distorting of facts. If it were Germany, we'd chased these idiots out of their jobs, as journalists do not have all the freedom they constantly demand, but also responsibilities. Being honest is one of those.

It's all been gone over thousands of times.

We are the same club. Call us zombies or Sevco if you want or get upset about a translation of a German article even.

No one likes us, we have enough fights without worrying about this.

In short, let them tell lies about our club and don't make a stand against it? Hm ... not my way.

I would imagine whoever writes these articles for Bayern isn't going to spend days or weeks poring over all the media material etc that has come out of the 2012 affair. He will spend some minutes at most and certainly less than an hour to come up with something to say about the yahoos whom they will expect to crush into the dust with a straightforward comfortable win.

He may even have got his info from daily rabble articles for all we know and we can't expect them to trawl through thousands of pages of complex legal details just for a match preview article.
