Rangers eye January loan moves for Manchester United youngsters Ethan Hamilton and Scott McTominay.

Midfield pair were watched by the Glasgow club's top spy John Brown last week and a call will go in to ask for them for the rest of the season.

MANCHESTER UNITED babes Ethan Hamilton and Scott McTominay are wanted on loan by Rangers.

The midfield pair were watched by the Glasgow club’s top spy John Brown last week and a call will go in to ask for them for the rest of the season.

Powerful Hamilton, 19, comes from the same Edinburgh youth club as Darren Fletcher and is tipped as a future star for club and country.

A spell in his homeland may help Hamilton’s progress at this stage of his career. And there is a pro-Rangers lobby at United in the shape of club legend Sir Alex Ferguson.

They may not be able to spare McTominay, who has started for Jose Mourinho’s first team in Europe.

But Paul Pogba’s return adds another option in the engine room and Old Trafford chiefs may decide the kid, 20, needs game time.

Mourinho is hoping the Frenchman, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Marcos Rojo can inspire a title challenge after coming back from injury.

But rivals Manchester City are currently eight points clear after scoring an incredible 40 goals in their first 12 matches.

A trip to Basel on Wednesday could provide a chance for McTominay to get some more action before United host Brighton in the league on Saturday.

Meanwhile Chris Coleman turned down a shot at the Rangers manager’s job to join Sunderland.

SunSport can reveal Coleman spoke with*Gers*chiefs on Friday afternoon about*replacing sacked Pedro Caixinha at Ibrox.

He quit as Wales boss just a few hours later — but not to take on the Gers job.Instead he will sign a £750,000-a-year 18-month deal with the Black Cats tomorrow.

The news is a further blow to Gers, who suffered a shock*2-0 home loss to Hamilton yesterday.

Interim boss Graeme Murty is unsure whether or not he will be in a job on Monday*after the*Accies*first win at Ibrox in the league since 1926.And their search for three wins in-a-row continues after the Hamilton defeat sparks one-year since the Govan side last managed the feat.

Aberdeen*boss*Derek McInnes turned down the chance to manage the Black Cats*in the summer and Coleman will now become their second permanent boss of the season.

Think they would be decent loan signings. Look at how the careers of Tammy Abraham and Loftus-Cheek have blossomed since Chelsea sent them on loan. But agree strikers should be priority.

If we can get decent midfielders then Morelos won't have to do so much in midfield and concentrate on getting in to the box then he will become that 25-30goal striker. He will start scoring again though, every striker hits a bad patch.
