Judge - Rangers own goal re EBT’s

Recommended Posts

The extent and wide-ranging fall-out from Murray's decision (or heavy gamble) to go down the EBT route has proved to be mind-boggling. There are a thousand and one angles and characters that have emerged.

Bottomline

- it was an awful decision by the Murray Group to take the risk in the manner and to the extent it did.

- HMRC/legislation should be more cut and dry and not provide endless loopholes and grey areas.

- high earners should pay the appropriate tax and NI.

Like I said, it wasn't aimed at Bearger but opposition fans and the media instead.

It's rammed in our faces. Why is this still dragging on 6 years later?

Because the hatred for Rangers FC is infinite for Tims and their cohorts.

Must be cos they're jealous of all our recent trophy wins (Petrofac Cup).

Obviously nothing to do with their inherent bigotry and subsequent hatred of what we are.

5,000 UK companies used EBT's. Let's see how many of them HMRC go after. I've long suspected it was a rogue element within HMRC which pursued Rangers.

Lord a Hodge is not a tax expert. Both tax tribunals(lower tier & upper tier) found in Rangers favour but when this went to common law courts they found otherwise as the judges probably didn't understand tax law and took public opinion into account as well.

It will be interesting to see how this develops.
