Hummel kit deal also begins today (June 1st)

I'm confident we'll get some nice kits from hummel and am pretty happy with the deal - ultimately money talks and we'll see what happens over the course of the deal.

I see Celtic have been launching their kit overnight with some light shows across Glasgow.

What ideas would you have for hummel to outdo them?

Following a 'fly past' by The Red Arrows, the first 5000 strips will be dropped, in packages, by RAF bombers onto the pitches at Ibrox and Auchenhowie.

The packages will be welcomed by members of Army and Navy Cadet Forces, and escorted, by them, to the Ibrox Superstore, where the new strips will be 'piped in', formally, by members of various Loyalist Bands.

Thereafter, bonfires will be lit in sundry parts of the realm, for the edification of the public.

Because of the hummel chevrons I was actually thinking about a Red Arrows flypast over Ibrox for the start of the new season but the proximity of Glasgow Airport may prove too tricky.

Always the same people who agree with every move the club makes yet are always left scratching their heads when it goes to shit.

All our moves are based on desperation. We cheapen the brand day after day dragging the prestige of the club with us, then wonder why we can't attract better sponsorship and players.

It's because we look cheap and desperate amoungst other things.

A strong club would stand it's ground and  stick to its principles like we used to.

Option 1 - Hummel (not the greatest brand - more of a cult/alternative look) at £10million over three years (plus bonuses).  Rangers are their primary focus and we have a stand-alone template.

Option 2 - Adidas/Nike/Puma (better brands) but they only offer £6 million over three years (no bonuses).  Rangers are well down their focus and have a generic template as per Aberdeen and Hearts.

I'm all for standing our ground and retaining prestige but until we're back playing in Europe and have the exposure Celtic do then money will have to talk for now.  It's not as if we've not used lesser brands (Admiral, Diadora, Umbro) before to good effect.

What bonuses and should be using rumoured £10m?

Can tell you now there is zero chance Hummel are paying a flat £10m. Absolutely none. Whoever is pushing that is at it.

these are snippets added by fans to try and understand the deal and make it more palatable.

We will see the accounts a year after the deal starts and I bet it's not even £2m a year. My guess £1m with forty- fifty percent of sales with us covering some costs.

Thought the names you mention where sponsors not kit manufacturers but been a while so you could be correct although pretty sure they were all dumped pretty quickly for a reason

We'll see what's correct and I suspect some inflation too but the point stands.

The best financial deal wins until such a time we're in a stronger position.

Sorry but the best financial deal negotiated by a guy who's only experience was doing same for Motherwell. Plus again it's not the best financial offer, that's only true if short term desperation is measure.

in the long run this will cost us income and lower our future potential to attract better deals as strip numbers drop as a result .
