After Maribor: Ufa FC

Recommended Posts

I actually looked for flights out to Ufa today.  £560 from London.  The time off work and additional costs (hotel/visa etc) probably mean it's not going to happen.

Hopefully we get through and have some tasty trips to look forward to in the group stages.

I can understand flights being expensive because it's off the beaten track so to speak and a pretty long distance. Almost 2,300 miles from London I believe. But I would have thought accommodation etc would be pretty cheap. Saw somewhere that you can get change out of a pound for a pint of beer.

Might be that if you book through a travel firm they're charging you an arm and a leg over what it actually costs for accommodation there. Azimut Hotel Ufa. $24 US a night.

At those prices perhaps you get 'a leg over' thrown in.

It has an imteresting history. In the very, very early, progressive, years of The Revolution, it was developed as a settlement for socialist  lesbian workers.

Hence Ufa's Dyke.
