Tbh I'd have rathered he stayed because his value would continue to decrease as his contract ran down and his performances continued to stagnate. On the other hand they don't have much time left in the window to find a replacement and if they don't find a replacement he's going nowhere and they have one unhappy boy on their hands. Dembele publicly tweets his frustration and implies he had given Lyon his word. I'm not expecting a particularly fruitful 6 months for Dembele before the next transfer window opens. It really does seem the tide of good and bad luck has started to turn. The French club bid £18m yesterday after Celtic assured him they would not stop the former Fulham striker leaving if an offer was received. Dembele, 22, was left out of Celtic’s squad last night as they qualified for the Europa League. Just before midnight Dembele tweeted an image containing the phrase "A man without his word is nothing. A real man keeps his word."
