I know the stadia of other clubs are either ramshackle tumbledowns or rancid cesspits but I used to enjoy the old Easter Road especially the top tier of the terracing opposite the stand.

Anyone else with a less than grudging word about opposition parks?

Probably Pittodrie as we won there on plenty occasions and we always packed out the South Stand with 4000 before they cut the allocation - although you wondered if there was more.

Parkhead wasn’t the worst. Broomfield was half decent. Pittodrie had nothing to commend it. Tannadice was all right but better before they built the Fox stand.

Emerging from Tynecastle through the Wheatfield tunnel was a nervy affair when your feet lost touch with the ground.
