Left it a couple of days to try and reflect more fairly on the game.

 

Obviously first half was good with Sakala and Kent bright. Second half was less so and it's difficult to really give pass marks to most of the players.

 

As such it's probably between Sakala and Bassey for me: Sakala was always willing even if his end product was lacking whilst Bassey again showed up well at left back.  I think I'll opt for Fashion though but it's probably through necessity than anything else.

Calvin Bassey for me. left back is definitely his position and I can understand why he didn't revert to his standby role in central defence.

 

What I don't understand is why we compromised our midfield by using Lundstram beside Goldson ... something Helander and Balogun must also be wondering. I just hope we now go back to a Jack/Lundstram partnership and return Kamara to the bench because he definitely isn't bringing the answers we need. This was one experiment that doesn't need repeating.

Went for Bassey.

I'm sure Gio's thinking behind using Lundstram in the back line was for his better use of the ball which backfired big time with that one slack pass.

I only saw the second half as we couldn't make the game today and don't feel anyone deserved it on that showing.

Gave it to Bassey as his last man tackle on a Well player stopped a one on one with McGregor and possible defeat.
