Other than giving players a run-out would have served no purpose regards selection/tactics etc.

That's a good point regarding the managerial vacancy, but at least having a run-out would have helped fitness and match sharpness when we return.

Most of our injured players aren't due back until Jan/Feb.  The WC break hasn't done us any favours in that respect.

Bagpipes are bad at the best of times but the only word I can describe that with is abomination.
