[FT] St Mirren 0 - 1 Rangers (Dessers 14)

Recommended Posts

A useful lead but not a good performance from Rangers in that first half; particularly down the right side where we continually lose possession and afford Kiltie too much space too. All in all we're struggling with a sticky pitch and another gusty wind. We need a lot more from several players.

Nil - one Rangers at half time but, it is a hard watch.

Conditions are not great, swirling, blustery wind adding to difficult under foot conditions. The same for both sides but, again we seem to have greater difficulty in controlling the ball.

Both Wright and Sterling are out of the game so far. St Mirren have penetrated our right flank on three occasions, hitting the bye line and putting the ball across our six yard box. Perhaps Sterling could be put in front of Tav' to block access? We seem to struggle coping with St Boo's energy.

Let's notch the second early in the second period, put this game and our nerves to bed.

If Clement expected St. Mirren to play like they did, he did everything well. Only that I doubt that. We essentially put a 7-man defence in front of Butland, and of the three attackers, only Wright and Dessers did their job. The game completely passed Cantwell by, mainly because he is just roving about. Wouldn't be surprised to see him subbed at HT.

Had to switch coverage, James McFadden is a dull dullard at the best of times. he also claimed Dessers was offside from a throw..

He spent more time talking about that than the 2 St Mirren players who actually were offside earlier that the ref and linesman completely missed and could have led to an equaliser.
