Rangers appoint Russell Martin as head coach

Recommended Posts

I don't think the support are opposed to Martin.

They are just underwhelmed.

A better manager, than Martin, would be like pulling a rabbit out of a hat.

We just need to see if the new regime can get down to the boring business of making good decisions over the summer.

If true its an utterly bizarre stupid signing , they had 4 months to get the right guy and they settle on this flop.

When you start off with most of the support against you it never ends well , be ready for the October cries for a new manager.

Weren't the Celtic support against Postecoglu? Never heard of the guy. They wanted Eddie Howe. Look how that turned out.

To write the guy off before he's even been here for a day is wild.

My biggest worry is the bulk of whatever budget he gets will need to go on at least 2 CB’s

If we are prioritising domestic football over European football, then it shouldn't.

Another concern budget wise is full backs / wide players. Only Jefte (at a push) is suited to Martins style, so we will need 2 x starting full backs.

I think it's an absolute woeful appointment.

The guy really is a joke. Why would anyone think he has what it takes? I hope to god I'm wrong, but il eat my hat twice over if I am. Absolutely gutted

I only see the BBC article you shared.. the guys a failure. He would have been sacked if he didn't win that playoff. 40 million wage budget he had, 2nd highest in the league. Still finished 2 places below Ipswich who had x4 less budget.

They also shipped 63 goals. None of this can be sugar coated.

We know what happened once they got promotion too. More woefulness
