Dick was on Dutch TV just now with two members of his Curaçao coaching team. They talked about Curaçao and how if you were new, you had to sing a song or do a dance. It showed a video of Dick singing Simply the best. When it came back live, Dick had tears running down his face and couldn't speak. When he was asked why he was so emotional, his assistant answered that the song came from Glasgow Rangers, and Dick considers that the best time of his life. He loved the people and his time there.

Great days, but his insistence in buying Dutch (Konterman) when there were better options, his dislike of Albertz (due to nationality?) and bad luck (Mols injury) meant he wasn't as successful as he could have been.

I’ve always wondered how the Advocaat era would have worked out if Daniel Prodan had been fit. He was one of the best defenders in the world at one point.

Advocaat definitely brought the highest standard of football as we were on a different level in Europe. Domestically the 9IAR team still romped everything but bar 92-93 they didnt compete in the Champions League. 

 

If Laudrup had stayed and played upfront it could have made all the difference. Wallace got a lot of important goals but I dont think he was on the same level as a fit Negri or Amato (another DA didnt like).
