Well, after originally building my team around Modric(!), I thought Tav, Souttar, Coady and Aarons; Cameron, Dio and Raskin; Poku, Dessers and ...?Cortes?  There  - now you can have right good laugh at my expense!

Let’s hope Cortes season is more about Goals and less about ‘ will he/ won’t he’ be fit. Let’s hope our medical staff have solved the mystery of his injuries. As when he did play a few times he looked promising and dangerous.

Considering we've only signed one player and we're just over one week into the window, it's a bit early to predict the starting XI.  

 

With a bit of luck, we might see seven or eight players leaving.

Let’s hope not! Despite his faults I’d say the amount of goals he gives us is crucial, we should keep him at all costs in my opinion.

His passing numbers are very good ... in the Championship.  

I know I'm sounding more and more like a Rangers da by the day, but I just don't think we can afford to have centre backs who aren’t aggressive and physically dominant anymore with how the rest of the team looks now. The Beck rumour only adds to this point. Good player, but rubbish in the air and more reason to have an aerially dominant centre back beside him. 

 

It will actually be exposed more in Europe than domestically. I thought it was noticeable in a couple of European games last season. We kept being muscled off the ball and generally losing both ground and aerial duels. The only thing we have strong competition for is who takes the posts are corners. 

 

That's in addition to the age and cost making it just a poor investment and the type of signing I was hoping we were leaving behind. Almost none of this profile have been a real success.
