The Spanish moved up three places to depose last month's leaders Argentina after their victory over Germany in the final of Euro 2008 on Sunday. England's absence from the tournament denied them competitive action and as a result they fell outside the top 10 just a month after re-entering it. Scotland are ranked 16th and Northern Ireland are down one in 33rd, the Republic of Ireland (41) are up one with Wales (54) dropping a place. World champions Italy are second in the rankings, with Germany's appearance in the final lifting them to third, ahead of Brazil, Holland and Argentina. The biggest movers of the top 10 are Croatia, up eight places to seventh, while Czech Republic, Portugal and France complete the list of the best sides in the world. Going by maybe the last two years and the underachievement of their national team, do you think they are scared? JUst so happens we were still only a place behind them.
