  2. FLYER PROBE Cops launch probe into sectarian flyer advertising march to Old Firm game at Ibrox on Sunday by self-styled Rangers ultras Union Bears Cops are urging fans to boycott the march to avoid any trouble before the game EXCLUSIVE By Rebecca Gray 8th March 2018, 7:23 pm A SECTARIAN flyer for a march organised by self-styled Rangers ultras has triggered a cop probe just days before the Old Firm match. Controversial supporters’ group the Union Bears sparked fury by advertising the march to Ibrox for the “match against the ******s”. The flyer has been labelled sectarian The poster for the event – posted on Facebook and Twitter – appears to show a Celtic fan on the ground being kicked. Top footie cop Superintendent Alan Murray revealed police were probing the twisted promo – and urged people to boycott the march. Supt Murray told the Scottish Sun: “We are aware of a planned fans’ march on Sunday and would urge supporters not to join in. “Large groups of fans moving together can cause problems and I am asking fans to make their way to the ground as normal. NEWS GROUP NEWSPAPERS LTD The march will begin at the Louden Tavern “We are aware of the content of the advert connected to the march, which permission has not been granted for. “A criminal investigation has been launched into the wording and logo of the advert.” The Union Bears want fellow supporters to march in a procession from Kinning Park to Ibrox on Sunday morning ahead of Rangers’ clash with Celtic on Sunday. An advert, posted on social media by the group, stated: “The Union Bears have organised a fans march to Ibrox before Sunday’s game against the ******s. KEITH CAMPBELL - THE SUN GLASGOW The march is scheduled to end at Ibrox ahead of the Old Firm clash “The march will leave the Kinning Park Louden Tavern at 10.45am. “Wearing dark coloured clothing is encouraged. “Please pass this on to fellow Rangers supporters.” Supt Murray said his officers will “respond appropriately” if a large group of fans decide to take part. Dave Scott, of anti-bigotry group Nil By Mouth, said: “The last thing an Old Firm fixture needs is a march like this. “We don’t need this kind of ignorant and sectarian behaviour on Old Firm day. “I hope the police will take action against it.” Supt Murray added: “Anyone intent in causing disorder, indulging in anti-social behaviour or hate crime can expect to be arrested by police. So, don’t risk missing the match. “We want the focus to be on the football and I am urging the thousands of supporters attending this match, which is important for both teams, to behave responsibly. “We have planned extensively with the safety of the public being our priority.”

  11. We still need your help to meet our £1m goal We are really pleased to have added over 100 new members this week since the last update. However overall progress towards our £1m goal has slowed due to fewer one-off donations this week. 100% of the funds we receive from these donations will go directly into Rangers and help Club 1872 maintain our position as the 2nd largest shareholder in the club. We understand that not all our members are in a position to make an additional one-off donation. An equally good way to help us is to recruit friends, family or work colleagues as we continue to increase our numbers. In particular your help to reach offline bears is invaluable. Please encourage them to join and help us invest directly into our football club.

  23. Glasgow Subway Sunday times extended for Scottish Cup match at Ibrox 3 March 18 / Evening Times Online GOOD news for users of the Glasgow Subway: Sunday’s times have been extended for the Scottish Cup match between Rangers and Falkirk at Ibrox. Notorious for closing early on a Sunday - much to the irritation of regular users - an SPT customer travel information representative has confirmed the last train will leave Ibrox at 7.36pm, with the final one from the City Centre departing at 8pm. The changes have been put into place to accommodate football traffic on March 4 only as Graeme Murty’s squad prepare for Sunday’s last-eight showdown with Falkirk. Usually on a Sunday, the Underground closes off early with the last trains from Govan at 5.50pm and from the City Centre at 6pm.
  24. The pub was very near to the Govan Graving Docks (dry docks). Spent many a hour in there while serving my time.
