It's a game at the end of the day nothing more nothing less, played by over paid chappies, who on average are not any better players, with a few exceptions, than the guys on the terracing. As with everything in the modern world marketing is the real power, from governments to chewing gum, American wrestling got the Sky treatment for a while and went ballistic here, pity help the EPL if Sky find a newer more £ friendly marketing tool, put all your eggs in the one basket, be prepared for the consequences if the basket gets dropped.

Right OK, I will let you aff this time, but nae more o the soft soaping me, ye canny get roon me that way.... plus I am watchin the Everton game and wonderin what planet the Scottish game is on...:fish:

Issue with Lafferty, your havin a laff, he has so far proved beyond a reasonable doubt to be a puddin, unless of course you know better.
-
I think you will find out that as the point required it, I cited Rangers ex top goalscorer.
-
No, you continually bring Boyd into subjects that have nothing to do with him, I thought Beattie was the crux, but everyone to their own.
-
Wasted because it has been all downhill for him, since his Southampton days, he will spend more time on the treatment table than he will on the park, and you can't score goals from there. Boyd is the all time SPL hit man, you must have forgot....again, but I know how much that irks you.
-
Whatever, 55 goals in 5 seasons is far from striker rate, Smith signed him as what...a centre-half, panic buy wasted money...again, hope he proves me wrong. But to me he looks as if he would rather be somewhere else.
-
I will say it now rather than later, Beattie won't cut it. A panic buy, when Smith realised that he had lost his top scorer, only he should have done his homework better. Beattie has scored 55 goals in the last 5 seasons.

Which reminds me, what the fek was Coisty's much publicised trip to the USA for, just to make sure Edu came back....???
-
The long punt will return, we have a 6' 3" target man to hit now.

Motivation, I am traditional enough to believe that pulling on the jersey is all the motivation that one should need. There is something sadly lacking in the application of the team on the park, yesterday they looked as if they had just met at a blind man's party. The team looked as it has on many occasions bereft of ideas, and dare I say it bewildered, by whatever tactics they were deemed to be using, deja vu about the failed 10IAR season springs to mind. Even this early in his Rangers career, Beattie makes Boyd look like Alan Wells on rocket fuel, I can see some serious problems arising if matters are not resolved and quickly. One thing we can be certain of, is that our young players will be very unlikely to be given the opportunity to help address such problems. It is very early in the season, but prevention is always better than cure, it depends on what measures Walter takes with the patient.

Been reflecting on the Man U Fulham game of last week, I am now more hopeful than I was earlier, Fulham raped them down the wings and Vidic and Scholes fouled their way through the game, Vidic in particular, I think if we get someone running at him, he could end up conceding in the box. Someone should have the straightforward task of sorting Scholes out straight from the kick off, but who I would give that job to would probably be easier to decide nearer kick off.

There are many simpletons in the world, you must have missed our team going backwards faster than an Italian tank, in Manchester. Walter Smith is tactically inept, as has been pointed out by more people than I, as for pish I will concede that you have no equal in that department.
-
I believe it was one of your allies who advanced money as a theory, I am far to wise to hang my hat on that peg, to have missed something you have to know what you are looking for, I see you haven't started yet.
-
You are correct, your Marseilles comparison has nothing whatsoever to do with the great Rangers team that ripped Inter apart and went out 3-2. You are struggling badly to make a summer out of Walter's two Swallows, Walter overall is a failure in Europe, get over it I did a long time ago. I had such high hopes for him after he won his first Euro championship, sadly my hopes were dashed on a regular basis.
-
Not one that you would understand, tradition is a powerful ally.
-
If money be your benchmark, count up how much Unirea cost.

The sum total of what I am reading equates to us being a small team in European terms, who should have little or no expectations of things above our station, although we are big fish in our own little pond and WS is a God who has succeeded in this small pond of ours against all odds.....bollox about sums it up. Some of us remember the great European Cup nights, when to be a Ranger meant something to those inside the jersey, in my own humble opinion the greatest night was 03/03/1965, when Inter came to town, never ever experienced an atmosphere or a crowd like it since or before, and I have experienced many. We had expectations then and I still have them now, Ibrox always will be my theatre of dreams. GLASGOW RANGERS-INTERNAZIONALE MILANO 1-0(1-0) Ibrox Park Glasgow 3.03.65 Ref: Kurt Tschenscher (WG) Att: 78.872 RANGERS: William Ritchie; David Provan, Eric Caldow (Cap); John Greig, Ronald McKinnon, Roger Hynd; William Henderson, James Millar, James Forrest, George McLean, William Johnston. Tr: James Scotland Symon INTER: Giuliano Sarti; Tarcisio Burgnich, Giacinto Facchetti; Carlo Tagnin, Aristide Guarneri, Armando Picchi (Cap); Jair da Costa, Alessandro Mazzola, JoaquÃ?Ân PeirÃ?³, Luis SuÃ?¡rez, Angelo Domenghini. Tr: Helenio Herrera Goal: Forrest (6) And yes Inter went on to win the trophy.

Why would anyone use domestic stats to "support" a Euro failure, bizarre doesn't even begin to explain it.
-
I don't need to defend anything, the stats do that, you appear to see overall failure as success.
-
I see, you don't really have a point.
-
So did Scot Symon and Willie Waddell, WW won his, so what exactly is your point, I wasn't aware it was an arguement, just a statement of recorded facts, seems some like to look for excuses, I prefer improvement.
