    That's a very interesting point, they have a fiduciary duty to "display the care, skill and competence that is reasonable for somebody carrying out the functions of the office, and if a director has any special qualifications an even higher standard will be expected. " and to "promote the success of the company"; but if you don't agree that they have done so then you would have to take them to court and prove they didn't act with due care or in not in good faith, neither of which would be easy.

    As per #32 I agree with most all of this except that I think I am right in saying that the ST deadline is usually some way before the start of the season, from memory within a few weeks or a month at most of the renewals being issued. Also those on DD's would have to cancel and then what happens if they can't afford to pay it in all at once to the Trust, will it accept DD's? The season is usually started before folks like me on DD have paid in full (Aug/Sep).

    It's not nonsense at all. There has always been a cut off point, if you do not renew for a one off payment or set up/continue to pay by instalments by the set deadline then you are at risk of losing your seat if someone else comes along and pays for it. An ST Trust does not equal saving the Club.

    As it stands it's my feeling that no matter how many thousands have signed up, very few people will actually particpate in a pay-as-you play ST Trust scheme because almost certainly it will mean losing your seat. Also we do need to hear a lot more than just I'll invest £20 million (or however much) if there is a new share issue. Not sure that all this has been very well thought out.

    And won it more convincingly - scoring the same number of goals in 28 matches played so far as in the 36 matches last season (87) and almost certainly conceding a lot less too (currently 14 in 28 v 29 in 36). After the first quarter with a few exceptions it has not been great to watch but there HAS been an improvement overall and it's job done in the league; now for the Cups. A win in the Ramsden's is expected (though by no means guaranteed) but a win the Scottish Cup WOULD be an achievement to crow about for a 3rd Division team, albeit one with more financial resources even now than all bar one of the other competitors.

    If Mr Houston simply states as fact that "Sandy Easdale was sentenced to 27 months in prison for VAT fraud in 1997" or perhaps that he WAS a fraudster or has a spent conviction for fraud, all of which would be which incontrovertible statements, I don't see any issue (NB this is not legal advice!).

    Turns out you can only PM 5 at a time but not a big deal in this case, I just forwarded it to the rest. (possibly could have overcome that by cc'ing or bcc'ing) StB - you need to clear your box as no room to PM you, just in case you were going. Andy, included you in the hope you can make it as well. I am happy with a deposit of £9 per head at this stage and the balance by say 19 April; but it would be easier if you want to pay the full £18 up front. NB: Please include your Gersnet name as a reference and in case that doesn't come through can you please PM me with your full (real) name and amount paid when you set it up, thanks.
