  1. I'm sorry but we didn't think of that as an option because most people would probably want to get back to civilization n the west as soon as possible (joke).
  2. You and I might have to have a private dinner.
  3. A lot of people who indicated they might attend have still to vote; poll remains open until 6.00pm tomorrow (or whenever I get back from Ayr)!
  4. If you buy 4 shares, do you count as 4 men and get 4 votes or are you still one man? If so why buy 4 shares? The CIC is generally not one man one vote that's the essential difference; but we'll see what they say today.
  5. That's not as it reads to me, it reads as you have to pay per month to own one, two, three of four shares in the scheme; not that you are buying that number per month; but I may be mistaken.
  6. Well unless you can guarantee we are going to be in the cup final, that's not really an option; and if we wait till after the semi and we lose then we are all out of options and if we win it's very short notice and a lot of folks will say they have other plans for after the cup final. As I said, we know we will not please everyone but the important thing (IMHO) is to get it established.
  7. This confirms a suspicion that I have heard expressed in some quarters. Nonetheless please vote for your preference.
  8. That's what I would have thought and seems to be confirmed by the reference to "one member one vote" on their site; but it then seems to be contradicted by reference to buying up to 4 shares (and perhaps more though that is not stated) which sounds more like a CIC? However, if you are correct then that is the big difference in the new proposal.
  9. Whilst noting and accepting your valid comments TB, there were not a lot of options available once folks had set on a Saturday night. You'll note that in this thread I haven't referred to it as an end of season dinner. I don't know you but I am sure you are experienced enough to realise that in this type of situation there are always going to be organisational difficulties especially as you suggest with the likelihood of fixtures being moved. That means that if you plan far in advance, you may well be thwarted but if you wait till the fixtures are confirmed then some folks will say that they have made other arrangements. Personally I have voted for Dunfermline for that reason and also because we may well have won or win the league then.
  10. Can anyone with knowledge of the current BuyRangers RST scheme confirm if the structure is a Community Benefit Society i.e. a Community Share Scheme or a Community Interest Company as I understand is being proposed tomorrow?
  11. Do you know or would RST care to tell us how many people are contributing monthly by DD, the total being contributed that way and answer my earlier question about the make up of the £52,000? Come on plg you're not normally slow to comment.
  12. Can you explain a bit more what you mean?
  13. All those interested in attending the dinner please vote on preferred dates. I have included the day of the Scottish Cup Semi Final on the basis that there would seem to be a reasonable chance that we might be involved, although we do not know if we would be playing on the Saturday or the Sunday. I have excluded the Scottish Cup Final date 17 May for obvious reasons. There is also the possibility that any match might be moved for TV and I suppose an early kick off might give us more time to eat and drink! Admin please close/delete first poll and merge the threads, thanks.
  14. OK the poll results are in as everyone can se, despite a late surge for midweek (25%) the overwhelming winner is Saturday after a match (70%); so I'll put up another poll for the dates. On behalf of Andy and I, thanks for all comments and support.
  15. If you check back I did suggest a tenner deposit.
  16. Also interesting to note that there have been a bunch of small buyers this week, anything from 150 to 15,000 shares and not a seller in sight; as a result of which the price has ticked up a fraction to 26.5p.
  17. I asked that and didn't really get a straight answer; but I'll try again face to face tomorrow.
  18. Just to go back to the OP for a moment, I do think it's commendable that the RST have been able to buy another 200,000 shares and I also think that it's instructive that according to plgsarmy aka the current and past Treasurer of the RST, they went against advice from DK in that respect. Whilst I am not offering an opinion on the scheme, for what it's worth I think it was a sound move to buy at the current price, since I agree that regardless of 3%, 5% etc the more shares you own the more influence you have. To that extent it is quite illuminating that the RST seem to put that ahead of considering where the money is going; whereas DK seems to take the opposite view. Some might be surprised to learn that I tend to agree with the RST on that. That said I am not convinced that ANY scheme offered by the RST will attract enough support to make a REAL difference because of it's well rehearsed baggage and internal divisions. To put it in perspective I think I am correct in saying that the RST now own almost exactly the same percentage of newco under BuyRangers (0.86%) as they did of oldco under Gersave (0.83%?) and there was around 6 figures in the Gersave account which I believe has been returned to the contributors. It would be very helpful if plgsarmy or anyone else who has the information could explain if the £52,000 was a balance from the IPO purchase or all from DD's or a mixture of both (as it appears) and how much they are raising per month by DD. Also if there is a new share issue, do the RST plan another campaign? I will be very interested to hear what is on offer tomorrow and the arguments for and against both schemes.
  19. Great to see the enthusiasm for this event. A reminder that the poll for night of the week will be live until 6.00pm; after which I'll post a new poll for choice of dates.
  20. OK we can have a prize for the best subtitle for the night.
  21. This is going to be one helluva dinner Maybe we should invite the SDMC film crew.
  22. Now why didn't I think of that
  23. A contributing factor certainly, but hardly accounts for 800 v 320.
