Taken from RM - the players who stopped the deal

Or perhaps Healy? -
It might be possible to mothball Ibrox for a season or two until the League/crowds justified using it again. We could possibly ground share with the likes of St Mirren or what about Hampden, I am sure QP would welcome the extra revenue.

My understanding is that UEFA will not allow a new "cross-border" situation despite the Welsh clubs in the English set up.

Thanks will amend. I spoke to Jim Spence today and he confirmed that Longmuir was singing off the same hymn sheet.

No need to apologise for being a pedant, Zappa, I am widely regarded as being one myself! I take your point about Clydebank but equally if I am walking past your house and take fancy to it, there is nothing to stop me asking if you want to sell it, even if it doesn't have a for sale sign in front.

And Cyprus above Scotland in the coefficients now as well.

A criminal investigation has been launched has it not at the instance if a certain Mr Johnston?

54andcounting’s post about Airdrie Utd started me thinking…….. When Airdrieonians went out of business at the end of the 2001-02 season, Jim Bannatyne formed Airdrie Utd and applied for the vacancy left by Airdrieonians, but Gretna were elected. He then bought Clydebank who were in financial difficulties at the time but as they were still in the League, Airdrie became members automatically and the League approved the "move" from Clydebank to Airdrie. If Rangers FC are liquidated, then the newco let’s say Rangers (2012) could apply to join the SPL (if they met the criteria including having a suitable ground e.g. Ibrox) since SPL rules allow for the member share of a liquidated club to be transferred to another company, providing 90% of clubs agree on possible sanctions and the league’s board then approve the sale, BUT: • They might not be admitted; or, • They might be admitted with such severe penalties (especially if they were spread over several seasons) as to render membership not worthwhile (which would be quite a strong negotiating point of course). In other words, even if it was possible to join the SPL it might be better to start off in the Third Division of the SFL and work your way back up again (penalty free). That well known comedian, Chick Young quoted Neil Doncaster as saying on Sportsound that there is no direct route into the Third Division and, of course, that is correct but assuming two teams move up from SFL1 (one to take Rangers place) and so on, then it follows that there would be vacancy in SFL3 in which case: • Rangers (2012) could apply to join SFL3 and take their chance alongside Coldstream, Nairn County or whoever; OR • They could buy an existing Third Division Club, thereby gaining automatic entry, rename it and apply to move the ground from wherever to Ibrox (assuming newco own Ibrox) OR going back to the beginning of this bad dream, they could buy an existing SPL Club………….. WARNING: THIS IS A FANTASY THAT HAS NO BASIS IN REALITY; ANY RESEMBLANCE TO EXISTING CLUBS OR RECENT EVENTS IS PURELY COINCIDENTAL. NO OFFENCE MEANT TO SUPPORTERS OF ANY OTHER CLUBS.

If Rangers FC are liquidated it is true that there is no direct route to the SFL3 but of course two teams would move up from SFL1 etc and a new Rangers 2012 could apply to joint the third division. Think I'll start a mischievous new thread with this.......

Administrators organise staff meeting for 4pm today (Wednesday)

If the players take pay cuts do the agents lose out as well or are their earnings only based on the original transfer fees? -

Something wrong with the definition of "high earners" here because my info is that Celik was on £7,000/week which wouldn't put him in that category to my mind but according to his agent he was asked to take a 75% pay cut. -

You probabaly saw that I tried to get back in to say that the SPL has lost 400,000 fans in the past two seasons, which is at least £8M so something has to be done. -

Take the point BD, not sure now exactly how I put it on air but in our survey: Greater sharing of central revenue is likely to increase competition according to 83% of respondents. Two-thirds of fans stated that they would attend more regularly if there was more competition When I was rehearsing it in my head I said "more equitable" but as I say I can't remember exactly how I put it. If I got it wrong then I apologise but it was quite nerve racking waiting an hour or more not knowing if or when you would be asked to speak.
