  1. Former Dundee United Director, John Bennett owns Dens Park, which be bought when they were last in crisis and has leased to them for 25 years initially at a nil rent. The full rent has now kicked in hence increasing Dundee's cash wows. Apparently the Americans who bought the Camperdown site have not put any money into the Club. I'm told the local paper has already flirted with a light blue strip for "City". https://www.eveningtelegraph.co.uk/2016/05/20/john-bennett-steps-dundee-united-board/ https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/opinion/rab-douglas/379480/rab-douglas-dens-park-lease-may-problem-dundee-want-move/
  2. Time they amalgamated with United and changed the name to Dundee City.
  3. I thought I read a report that he'd scored his first ever senior goal for them the other day?
  4. I am not sure what point you are trying to make with your ill-informed sarcasm. I certainly didn't attempt to get Messrs King or Park to invest in anything. IIRC one member of the RST Board or an Intermediary may have spoken to Mr King on one occasion and I was excluded from two meetings with Mr Park; but my recollection of the report was that the RST representatives gained little encouragement from the meetings. Again my recollection is that these initiatives were aimed more at assessing their own intentions than supporting any bid by the RST. I was directly involved in approaches to other parties and I was approached by the lawyers acting for Jim McColl who agreed to underwrite our £30 million offer to buy the Club from SDM subject to a satisfactory plan. I made a substantial contribution to developing that plan with colleagues and it was approved by McColl's lawyers but somewhere in transmission between him and his bankers it was leaked to the press and he pulled out. I trust this historical information assists your understanding but as with your earlier comments I fail to see the relevance to our current travails.
  5. Yes, if it was done above board; but it may just have been their agent flying a kite.
  6. I am sure that if there is disagreement and there is enough ITK evidence to support this contention, then the problem that the dissidents will have is the doctrine of collective responsibility. For the uninitiated this means that as a member of a Board you not only have to accept the decisions of the majority but you must maintain the confidentiality of these discussions and any public pronouncements you make must support the agreed position; or else you must resign. The classic example is that of the resignation of Michael Heseltine over the Westland Affair in 1986. The difficulty for the dissidents whoever they are on Rangers Board is that if they wish to be in a position to influence future events then they either need to buy out the other side, thus diminishing their ability to invest in a future share issue for the benefit of the Club; or else keep their silence for the time being (and use their friends in the media etc to leak their version of events). If they break ranks now then it becomes all out war again and frankly no one will benefit from that. So someone needs to lock them all in a room and tell them they are not getting any food or water till they agree on a new manager, funding and produce the so far mythical Plan for the Future of Rangers Football Club.
  7. I'll go with most of what you say but don't understand how you can assert as "fact that the resignation was unanticipated" given that the Chairman sated that he was aware that the manager had been in discussions elsewhere, did he not?
  8. Surely if Rangers say he resigned we are not paying him any more? Or do you mean we are paying the price for said manager
  9. Are King and Park not supposed to be the big hitters? Is part of the problem that they are at loggerheads over funding etc?
  10. Looked to me like a panic move when we went 2-1 down so he wouldn't be accused of accepting defeat. Up to then he was accepting a draw and hoping for a win.
  11. Same old record from you; what has any of that got to do with the current Board being prepared for their manager leaviing; answer nothing whatsoever.
  12. So is Zelalem and look where he is now - the Dutch 2nd Division.
  13. I disagree. It was easy to manage because it was foreseen. Not all unemployed managers are as duff as some of our players - de Boer, Laudrup, Juande Ramos to name but three. Davies, McLeish, Rowlett the list goes on....... I'm confident the Board think they're acting responsibly and doing the right thing.
  14. Interim Rangers boss Graeme Murty has been receiving assistance but has not named the person who has been helping him. Murty made the revelation in the wake of the 2-1 defeat at Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Friday night. "The board have taken steps, they have offered me help and I have taken advantage of that help," Murty said. "At the moment that will remain private between me and the person who is helping me." Walter perhaps?
  15. No one suggested they tap up some other team's manager. Have you had a look at the list of unemployed managers recently?
  16. And not one of them started the game tonight.
  17. I think most people would agree with Rab. If you listened carefully to Mr Robertson's interview he made the point that whilst you hope and search for longevity in practice in the modern world of football that is by no means guaranteed. Mr King said he knew MW was using Rangers as a stepping stone and that they were job hunting. So the Board should have been prepared and it's manifestly the case that they were not; or if they were and Murty was the standby then it was a mistake.
  18. Fair enough but that was so bad I had to go for an ice cream straight from the Kirky Club, so give me a break.: Large brandy next.
  19. Which is a breach of their fiduciary duty is it not?
  20. Not one of the 10/11 players we signed in the summer started this match. That's not just bad luck; it's bad judgement.
  21. As I've said many times his record shows he's a League 2 player and only one club has ever paid money for him.....
  22. We'll I've been called a few things in my time.......
  23. Terrible defending by Kiernan for the goal.
  24. I think you'll find it was 5-10 minutes before we scored.
