  1. Then that would include: Alan Pardew, Juande Ramos, Frank de Boer, Michael Laudrup, Roberto Mancini, just saying.........as I did in the other thread, we need to aim high and the opportunity to take this Club back where it belongs might compensate someone of the stature of the aforementioned to accept the kind of salary we could offer. OK, an old guy can dream......
  2. It doesn't sound like they did; but I think they're safe anyway.
  3. The Board may have screwed up by (agreeing) or otherwise delaying putting the first agreement in writing but in any event, if a verbal offer to resign was made and accepted by the Club particularly with the conditions being agreed, as I understand Scots Law, that's a binding agreement. The fact that the agent came back to renegotiate would serve to confirm the first agreement. It seems that the Club have belatedly confirmed the initial agreement but I think they are on strong ground although they may be forced to make a small payment under threat of litigation.
  4. Sounds about right.
  5. There are 100's of unemployed managers and coaches including some top European names. I think we should aim for the best we can afford/tempt to Ibrox. The project of resurrecting the Club to the higher echelons of European football would be attractive to some who might make a salary sacrifice for the privilege.
  6. Perhaps they were getting set to make an announcement yesterday then got thrown by the new demands?
  7. I'll bet he is.
  8. Happy to take your word for it rbr; I don't watch them take their tops off, too painful.
  9. I'd say that sounds about right!
  10. Absolutely that's my point.
  11. Exactly my point and if so the Board have played a blinder.
  12. It's the job of the Board indeed their fiscal duty to plan for all eventualities. In football losing a manager is a regular occurrence, so having a replacement in mind even on a temporary basis should be par for the course.
  13. That appears to be the implication from the statement is it not? Then you have to look to the negotiating skills and motivation of the people in the boardroom. You and I might have been looking for at least the value of their wages for the rest of this season, possibly more; since if they were determined to leave we are holding the aces; but it seems that the Board were so keen to see the back of them that they were happy to let them go for nothing.
  14. Yes, sorry just trying to be helpful; I don't do Twitter, accepted it as genuine from a third party.
  15. Yes well it appeared to be @NFFC (NFC was my abbreviation) so apologies if it's fake news.
  16. Apologies but it looked genuine with their crest.
  17. Because we didn't have a replacement strategy in place?
  18. Because we're happy to see them go?
  19. NFC Twitter signed on 3 yr contract
  20. Nottingham Forrest have just made the announcement.
  21. Not sure why you would be surprised. Loyalty counts for nothing these days; money talks and I bet the money at NF was about double what they were on here. Hopefully he fancies Kiernan and Tavernier so much that he'll take them wherever he lands next. Maybe Hodson and Dodoo will get a chance now.
  22. So you're saying there just a bunch of
  23. Point is that in a game you can't wear anything that could harm you (say if the ball were to hit you on the device you are wearing) or another player if there were to be a collision; that's why I don't understand how they can measure the distance in a real game.
  24. Rousseau should be in the running.
  25. If the Board took the initiative and the result is that we got rid of all three for nothing then they did the right thing IMO. They were never taking us where we need to be with their signing/loan policy and lack of tactical awareness. I argued earlier that we couldn't get shot mid season for financial reasons but if the Board have achieved this I think it's a good result. If Warbs & Co took the initiative then it matters not the result is the same. If they did a deal and then didn't stick to it as the statement suggests, then they can fight it out in court and they'll be an out of court settlement; but if it went down the way the Club say then Rangers will have strong case. This will give a new manager an opportunity to shape the team and line up new recruits for the EL and next season.
