  1. I disagree. I'd rather the new regime got this done and dusted ASAP and in the public domain. it was always going to happen, i personally feel that because we are not used to major upheaval in the boardroom at Ibrox it has caught us cold, sort of like the Rabbit caught in the headlights. I would hope CW has some sort of official statement about todays news in the next day or two.
  2. No worries. It makes for uncomfortable reading for me. Obviously it's a given it comes from the DR, but still, it's not totally surprising. But on a positive note at least CW is being crystal clear on such issues which means we don't read the "real" reason Bain was removed in 18 months time.
  3. http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/scottish-news/2011/05/24/rangers-suspend-chief-executive-martin-bain-and-executive-director-donald-mcintyre-over-irregularities-86908-23153310/ RANGERS chief executive Martin Bain and Donald McIntyre, who holds the positions of finance director, secretary and executive director, were suspended yesterday after what was described as "irregularities" were discovered at the club. An Ibrox insider confirmed some of the alleged irregularities were financial, but said this was not the main or sole thrust of an inquiry that is now under way at the Glasgow club. On Bain - understood currently to be in the United States - and McIntyre, he added: "They remain on the board for now as they are only suspended." The club, he explained, had to act immediately to satisfy stock market rules: "As soon as the irregularities were uncovered, they were duty bound to make the suspensions." Alastair Johnston and Paul Murray were removed as directors of Rangers late yesterday with the news being announced to the Stock Exchange this morning. An Ibrox insider said: "Johnston was in America and spoken to by conference call from a board meeting in Ibrox. He was offered the chance to resign but refused, so he has been removed." It was not clear what lies ahead for other high-profile directors. Dave King was not in the meeting and was not contacted during the conference call. The Ibrox source said: "Like John Greig, he remains on the board as well as John McClelland." Former player and manager Greig is a non-exective director, while McClelland is the board's executive vice-chairman. I think it's safe to say Martian Bains time is over

  5. Removed and resigned are Polar opposites. You are removed from somewhere when they don't want you there. You resign by your own hand. all in laymens terms. If i was AJ andPaul Murray and i had resigned under my own steam and Rangers had released this stament which is a black mark on their CV i would be suing.
  6. you said this, " However it could be that the statement was drafted by someone who does not normally get involved in such things? It's probably best not to get too hung up on the wording." That says to me you think there's the possibility of a mistake
  7. Sorry mate but i disagree. If the new Rangers are going to issue statements and make serious mistakes like this we are fucked
  8. I doubt the LSE or Rangers would allow an apprentice to draft such a letter. IMO with the LSE you need to be 100% straight with them with these kind of situations, esp with a high profile institution.
  9. Using the word "removed" says to me there was hostility in this action as AJ had said he was going to step down (can't remember the exact date) it also might give some sort of indication why the take over took so long. Maybe Craig Whyte didn't want to cause friction at the top of the marble staircase at Ibrox. I'm pretty sure CW did his homework on each and every board member at Ibrox, with by looking at public records, google or asking people in the trade,"What's he like" over a pint. In all IMO, although i think AJ is a good guy with Rangers at heart, they were part of this regime that got us in so much mess, so i am prepared to accept CW knows what he is doing and to 100% trust these new guys he's put in place
  10. IMO If Barca win the CL Pepe G will be prime candidate. he's said himself he wont be at Barca forever so now would be a good time to move and give himself a new challenge that would suit both Chelsea and Pape, plus Abramovic would probably thin k he could persuade some of the Barca stars to move to Chelsea
  11. Burke and any ex player can fuck off. I HATE this train of thought of bringing ex players back!
  12. Fergies made a lot of noises about him. he's the best dead ball specialist in the EPL
  13. We have ZERO Chance of Parker of Adam. IMO Adam will go to Man U for around the £12M mark, Parker to Arsenal or Spurs for around the same. Both players can pick who they go to TBH
  14. Right. The Dims said they didn't want to win the league because they "Feared for the safety of Lennon" So, with that logic, i take it they are going to let Motherwell win today?
  15. And it will now go into overdrive. IMO this league win is on a psychological par, if not bigger than the Mo Johnston signing, which, IMO ruined them for years. Now we are financially stable with a Bear as an owner, they will be shitting it. they should have ruined us 4-6 years ago, and, well the proof is in the pudding, they didn't, we just kept wining hahahahaha We now have a chance to ruin them for years if not decades if we are financially managed properly which will also mean we are doing well on the pitch.
  16. You know what i don;t understand about the Tims is this. If they are so "offended" at words and songs they are going to have very limited, sheltered and boring life as they obviously can't leave the house, turn on a TV or Radio, as if songs at a football match offended them, by Christ they are in for a very bad life as it's a big bad World out there. I bored the tits off you lot about my time in Thailand (i'm now back in Scotland) and i know it looked great and i did have a brilliant time, but some of the stuff i see out there would make you cry. The poverty, death, and the acute cruelty that the World deals some people moves you to feeling sick. I saw an incident on local Thai TV that fucked my head up for a day or two (i wont burden you guys with it) and i did think how lucky i am, yet we have the Yahoo's greeting at every single breath of wind that passes over Ibrox stadium!!!!! I say that about all my travels around the Globe (not just Thailand) over the last 20 years, and believe me, i've been about (roughly 90 countries) There's a part of me feels sorry for Tims because if they are offended by these little songs, they are very weak minded people and are going to live a very sheltered life.
  17. CFC was minutes from becoming no more, and i don;t mean administration, i mean ceasing from existence. The Dome would now be Morrisons in Laymens terms. That would have been a disaster for The Rangers at that moment in time. Wee Fergus, although a wealthy man, was unsure wither it would be worth him buying them so had, through various parties said he was not going to buy them. No one else was looking at buying them. SDM called Wee Fergus the night before and basically gave him a loan of £4m to buy them. Now, i know people will ask for proof, i have none. But at the time, if you were following the scenario at the Bheatsts you will see it actually makes sense.
  18. Remember it was David Murray that actually gave McCann is the money to buy Celtic, therefore we owned them LOL
  19. It's TV rites that make the £££££££££££ And you know what, the SPL is available in any country i have been to because the TV rites to it will be cheap as chips. I have watched Motherwell Falkirk in the middle of the Oman desert, or in my house in Thailand. I am no marketing expert but i really don't see how we can make money out this way or the other western countries (non EU) that have been mentioned??
  20. I wanna clear something up that is a 100% myth that people in Scotland seem to think happens. Rangers shirts and TV abroad, and i'm not talking Europe where you can get Sky. I have lived and worked in the Middle east, and lived in South east Asia for the best part of 20 years as well as the States (last count i had been to around 90 countries through work and play). I read all the time that these are markets we need to tap into to make money. lads and lasses, Rangers are on the TV out here and have been for years, but if a EPL game is on it takes priority. You need to go to the very few bars that will show them. I lived in a town in Thailand called Pattaya for years. It has something like 4,000 bars and clubs (it's roughly the size of Paisley) and there is ONE, yes ONE bar that is dedicated to Rangers and it's tiny. Also why pay £40 for a Rangers shirt when you can buy the fake for £2? The only teams that have shops out here are Man U, Arsenal and now Chelsea, even then they are small shops stuck away in a corner and very rarely busy that's because right across the street you can buy the fake stuff for a tenth of the price. It's just a case of there's no real market for us. I hate saying this but we are not as big a team as a lot of fans seem to think we are. Buying a Korean or Jap would not increase our income at all, ok it would raise the profile a bit and we might make a few extra quid but IMO it's not worth the financial burden of brining in a guy like that to rangers as the chances of him settling are slim. I'm sure some will disagree, but that's my views from 20 years of trying to watch the Rangers abroad outwith Europe
  21. I tweeted that ppl were talking about his change of attitude. here's his reply to me GrahamSpiers Graham Spiers @Frank_Bear Oh, give me peace! I write what I like. I couldn't give a toss who owns what club... 7 minutes ago I replied Frank_Bear Frank the Bear @GrahamSpiers It's the acute change of attitude that's raising eyebrows, can you see why a LOT of people would do so? No reply so far
  22. Maybe i'm being cynical but does anyone else feel Spiers is "praising" Rangers fans now we have a new owner. IE he knows he could be banned from Ibrox once the new regime is in place?
  23. Been there done that on HMS Southampton when Monserrat kicked off. Amazing to watch, not so amazing being in the hurricane gale at sea though
