  1. Celtic will get battered in all their away games. If Munich can shake of their disapointment of last season they could win it this season, they've been drawn a good group. Man City have it all to do again this season.
  2. Contradicts himself on a permanent basis. Hutton hasnt kicked a ball but gets in the squad (albeit probably rightly on ability), but its one policy for one player and another for others. Twat of a guy. Never been so not caring going into a world cup qualifying campaign in my life! Yet this group is the most winnable group we have had in a long long time. Levein should have been sacked after the hiding by the USA to allow a proper coach to get us through.
  3. Squad: Goalkeepers: Matt Gilks (Blackpool), Allan McGregor (Besiktas), David Marshall (Cardiff City) Defenders: Christophe Berra (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Gary Caldwell (Wigan Athletic), Daniel Fox (Southampton), Grant Hanley (Blackburn Rovers), Alan Hutton (Aston Villa), Russell Martin (Norwich City), Charlie Mulgrew (Celtic), Andy Webster (Heart of Midlothian) Midfielders: Charlie Adam (Liverpool), Don Cowie (Cardiff City), Graham Dorrans (West Bromwich Albion), James Forrest (Celtic), Shaun Maloney (Wigan Athletic), James Morrison (West Bromwich Albion), Matt Phillips (Blackpool), Robert Snodgrass (Norwich City) Forwards: Ross McCormack (Leeds United), Jamie Mackie (Queens Park Rangers), Kenny Miller (Vancouver Whitecaps), Steven Naismith (Everton), Jordan Rhodes (Huddersfield Town)
  4. Any promising youngster should be on long term deals to cover a good fee should a big club come sniffing. I think what we rely on more than anything is sell on clauses from sold players moving on from the team we sold them to. McKay wouldnt be in the Everton XI so its in his best interest to develop as a player in the Rangers first team.
  5. Dalglish was obviously high signing him in the first place. Adam, Henderson and Carroll for 60 million! Possibly the worst trio of signings ever. Stoke will fit Adams game perfectly. Rough hard tackling and no skill needed. Edu, Adam and Ness in the same team! Not even sure if we'd have been happy with that 2 years ago. It would have been a huge hit or miss.
  6. Anyone know if Black was mates with Templeton at Hearts? He could maybe do a bit of persuading. But 300k would be a steal! I did say the other day a keeper is needed for cover. Never seen Bell in action so cant comment but Craig Gordon cant get a club down south and there is nothing to lose by asking him if he fancies joining.
  7. Anything around 20000+ is fantastic for a Thurs night cup match. Another home game on Sunday which many a fan will be saving the trip expenses for that game. Yet 24000 would possibly see us having the biggest attendance for a domestic cup match in Britain this week. Attendances of Premier League clubs in Capital Cup matches last night to the nearest thousand: Aston Villa 15000 Norwich 13000 QPR 6000 Stoke 9000 Sunderland 23000 Swansea 9000 West Ham 18000 Everton - Playing tonight.
  8. Anyway back on topic, any future Naismith comment can be put in Footie thread. Pity I couldnt get a bet on that by the time we are back in the SPL Naismith will be playing Championship football with the likes of Birmingham or Hull.
  9. I think I'll just wait until Saturday morning and then look at our squad list.
  10. Funnily enough I was watching a clip or 2 last night from happier times. This wasnt under WS but still a day to be remembered. The hullo hullo chant near the end is awesome.
  11. Yeah thats right, I had some dude in Italy wanting a grand per ticket. Id have bought but wasnt sure how genuine he was being. I was ready to fly to Italy first to pick them up as I have to land in Europe anyway when coming from here.
  12. Yes come on the SFL clubs. 3 more tonight - Arbroath, Queens Park and Ayr to beat Caley, Dundee and St Mirren.
  13. Will give you 4/5 there. But first one - can he find good players, his hands have been tied on that one.
  14. Gone are the days where footballers are there for the team and to just play football. Wasnt it John Greig that pulled Davie Cooper up once and asked him to lose a few lbs in the coming weeks then Cooper lost half a stone in a week!! Giving footballers this fancy lifestyle puts them in relaxed mode. Le Guen was absolutely spot on wanting them to train twice a day. As Div 3 sides are showing, they train their asses off twice a week and probably individually every night just for a game on a saturday.
  15. Gribz

    Sasa Papac

On the recent showings he'd walk into the team...even in left mid where he was shocking! But a very decent LB in the few seasons he played for us. We had a few rough LB's before him in Bernard, Vignal and Valoni but Papac fitted in well.
  16. Inverness ground isnt much bigger! Forres have a safety certificate for 1450 fans but if switched to Inverness then 6000. I remember we played Keith in the mid 90s in scottish cup and they switched it to Pittodrie where a good turn out of around 15000 showed up and we won 10-1. It was a good day out for us Bears based in Aberdeen, but I would object to it now as it would mean AFC getting a cut of some sort due to us being in town.
  17. Forres meeting today to decide whether to move the game to Inverness, Pittodrie or to play at Forres Just noticed Wick Academy got Berwich Rangers in the cup....thats a 2 day trek!!!!
  18. Aye thats what I was thinking, bit small those dug outs. My coal fire is bigger than that
  19. I think in the long term we'll look back at the tough away matches and think crikey it wasnt so easy after all and this is part of the journey. Im sure everyone expected a few draws and defeats on the road but to have 2 lucky draws out of 2 away from home wasnt expected. If we were winning 6-0 every week the enjoyment might wear off because we are going to have 2-3 years of this climbing the leagues. Its still early days but by the end of September there is no excuses, the team will / should have gelled and all the off field stuff should be put to bed. By October / Nov I expect to be at least 6 points clear.
  20. Templeton would have been a good buy in the SPL, cant see him joining us in Div 3. On his day he is a wing wizard!
  21. Derek McInnes could be the man in 3 years time. He wouldnt leave the Championship where he has started the season off well. Davies is an obvious choice but Id be looking at asking Kevin Keegan to maybe come in and help out. He knows how to get the ball down and play attacking quick football.
  22. Because I cant see Ally getting the boot unless these results continue for at least another 4 away games. Bringing in someone with tactical knowledge to advise him seems the most likely scenario.
  23. Im getting worried that McCoist is taking this league for granted and that because we have better players on paper it will get us through games. 2nd away league match and 2nd time he is standing on the touchline looking a bit lost. Bring in an experienced assistant ASAP. And if thats Davies then so be it
  24. This is something I mentioned in the summer that because we are the only show in town the SFL could move away from the SPL and become the main player again. The teams in Div 1 like Dunfermline, Morton, Raith, Partick, Falkirk are all on par with the SPL teams like St Mirren, St Johnstone, Ross C, Caley etc for size and fan base. I previously mentioned it could be like the BDO / PDC situation in darts where the PDC is now the biggest and best. If the SFL managed to get the right applications with UEFA so the SFL champs were put in Europe then the SPL would dissolve. I think the SPL maggots may realise this hence the merge that will take place. Winning the SFL would make us champions of that body therefore Scottish Champions. Celtic would eventually pass our 54 but when you look at it as a race to 54 we won because the history books will show we didnt compete from 2012 onwards. These are the strength tools RFC and the SFL should be using unless we are part of the restructure debate.
