  1. And there couldnt be a better co-commentator than Andy Walker to witness this today.
  2. And there it is...............YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSs
  3. There is surely some good clips of Lennon's face from today aswell. Looks a worried man. Another one from Hearts before the end would be great.
  4. Vagely remember seeing Jennings at the 86 World Cup, he was lobbed by Brazil from about 40 yards IIRC. Slightly remember Stapleton. But I do remember Brady playing, when I started going to Upton Park he was playing for West Ham 89/90 season and still ran the show in the middle of the park.
  5. haha what a wank Commons. You should have signed for Rangers.....
  6. YES!!! Screamer!!! Cracking wee player that Templeton BTW!!
  7. Aye but its the worst Arsenal team for generation under yourself I can remember back to the mid to late 80s down south but mainly only saw Liverpool and Everton on MOTD. Saw from around 89 I remember Arsenal winning the title twice and then the generation of THAT defence. There was a few seasons in early to mid 90s when they werent top 3 or 4 but no way were they defensively as bad as what they are now and they still had winners like Ian Wright in the team. And of course then Wenger came and transformed them..... EDIT 4-0 Chelsea now
  8. The only thing I can think of is blocking the view from people behind you who wish to sit. But there has to be an argument for standing sections being brought into grounds, it would really increase the atmosphere. Someone mentioned earlier, Whyte should be a bit more vocal on these issues.
  9. Spoke too soon about Chelsea, they are crusing. 2 up inside 15 mins. Bolton were a good side last season but on free fall at the moment. I thought both them and Sunderland would kick on to be top half - top 8 teams this season but both have went backwards by 2 steps. Not sure about Chelsea's midfield, Merieles was a unexpected signing. Lampard just scored but he has lost another yard of pace and he was never a quick player in the first place. Havent seen much of Ramires. They are missing Essien, have never replaced Makelele and still think they need Modric. Mata looks quality though.
  10. As much as Id like Hearts to score a draw would be welcome. When playing catch up its 2 points dropped for them.
  11. Fancy Chelsea to win at Bolton, wont be easy but they should have enough. Swansea v Stoke - 10 years ago these 2 were playing each other in the 3rd tier with Swansea getting relegated that year and Stoke losing in the play offs. Im impressed with what Pulis has done and think they will win. Fulham v QPR - A rare london derby between these 2. Home win. Spurs v Arsenal. For the first time I can ever remember I really fancy Spurs to win this and it could be a thumping like 3 or 4 nil. That said I wouldnt be surprised if Wenger pulls off a miracle as you can never write him off even though its the worst Ive ever seen them. But I'll go with Spurs.
  12. Not sure why he would walk away unless he moves into the coaching role at Everton like rumoured. He will be needed at some point this season. Goian and bocanegra are doing well but they came about as a partnership perhaps by default and it would be mamoth for them to play all season. Bartley can also be used as a midfielder but we seem to be covered there well at the moment. As good as Weir has been we cant change something that is far from broken, we arent conceding again at the moment. the only errors are coming at full back (or RB) with Whittaker.
  13. It is close. Hearts have had a few great chances.
  14. Every airline in Singapore refuses bottles. You have to clear airport concourse twice here, first time you are allowed bottles into the shopping area etc but then before going on board you are checked again and no bottles allowed. I had a shower gel bottle with a tiny amount left over for an over night stay which met the legal limits but because the bottle said 200ml (from when it was new and full) on it I wasnt allowed it through, so I about turned went to the airport shop and bought a new full 250ml bottle sealed in plastic and was allowed it on - absolute insane! I showed the guy I am going onboard with about 10 times more shower gel now. The guys words "just doing what Im told"....my words "exactly your serving the agenda". My point if those serving all refused these robotic instructions then simple things like this wouldnt occur. Last week KLM from Abdn to SG, I bought a bottle of Lucozade sport after security in Adbn, it was allowed on board the flight as it was bought after security but I didnt drink it. I reached Amsterdam for my transfer and the same bottle that WAS allowed on my first flight with the same airline was refused on my next flight....no explanation except no bottles allowed.
  15. Just wondering why would you serve the agenda just for a job when it effects some who are innocent? Those who make the policies dont give a shit about the police, they use such divisions to force these crazy new laws through on all walks. When those acting on behalf of these men in suits at the top wake up they cant achieve what they are trying to do. another example very similar to the policing in this case is at airports where you are not allowed to carry a simple bottle of water on a flight when thats one of the most likely places you are going to be thirsty because you have these workers who think they are doing their job removing items. Its like we are being trained for concentration camps....checked everywhere for every single little thing due to a false threat. On a side note. Is this just a ban in Scotland? Watching the Everton v Liverpool games yesterday I clearly saw a Everton fan drinking a bottle which looked like coke due to the colour. The Scotland v England rugby match yesterday showed fans clearly mixing together and drinking cans of beer in the stands...can you imagine that in football?
  16. The performance against Aberdeen was ugly. Hearts wasnt great. Since those 2 matches it has improved but 1-0's are always edgy until the final whistle goes.
  17. I said this the other day its our home form that has seemed a bit scrappy except the Celtic 2nd half performance.
  18. But the others could have pitched in and got his goals. I can recall quite a few games when we didnt start winning until Boyd went off so its swings and roundabouts. But we were always a better side without him. Before he signed we scored over 100 goals in a season and after he has left we are still winning titles so that ridiculous poster in the stands those years back of "no Boyd = No goals = no titles" is shown to be a nonsense.
  19. I think we could see him as a deep hard working midfielder like Stuart McCall type.
  20. Sorry Craig, there was supposed to be a wink after my post not sure what happened there. The good think about jelavic was he didnt even need a year to prove himself, we could all see the quality in him straight away. Like you previously said last season he does look heavy when running, but its his style, he is actually quicker than he looks. But the quality is there to be seen and despite naismiths good form he just isnt near the player Jelavic is IMO.
  21. Think we should just call him Dave McKay Hasnt really featured yet, just wondered why. He hasnt even been on the bench. What I noticed on Tuesday was 3 defenders on the bench (although was Perry there for SPL u21 rules?). Would like to see the guy feature soon, I know Edu is having a good spell but if he goes near last seasons form then McKay needs to be ready to step in.....and Ness.
  22. Yet again a typical "im right your wrong" post from Craig.
  23. Not quite IMO. Jelavic proved it over a season last year that he is a class act. Naismith started last season very well but faded a bit. He has got off to a flyer this season but its only been about 8 weeks. He needs to give a full season of this form before he is double figures. He is probably the 4th highest valued player in the team. McGregor, Jelavic and Davis range between 8m - 14m (Mcgregor is worth 14m). If Naismith plays a full season on current form (he will have the odd bad / quiet game) then he can be put in that bracket. Its no coincidence that his form has taken off since he has played in a right mid or attacking mid role. Ive never seen him as a striker.
  24. Cant say I hate the guy but I just never thought he was a footballer good enough for Rangers and I did dislike his attitude. The goal count is a freak but majority against terrible teams (the SPL in general are terrible and that shows when no clubs are even in the Europa Cup). I always said he would get found out as soon as he left Rangers. The good players at the club made him look better than he was and set up his tap ins. Since leaving he has proved me and others right who said he would get found out. All i can say to him is thanks for being greedy and leaving the club.
  25. Agree with Dutchy, people will be able to drink longer for weekday matches. Cant see what difference it would make. Im quite partial to a midweek OF game anyway but if its being dicated by other reasons then it just shows the control levels in UK are hitting new heights all the time. There has been an average of 4-6 OF games every season since the league started and trouble has probably dramatically reduced since the 60s, 70s and 80s yet during those times moving games wasnt mentioned, its just the establishment pushing for changes all the time now and football fans are being used. I dont think the average PC would even think to care about when the OF game is played.
