  1. Even if some players offered 50% cuts is would be a good gesture especially if they are injured and not playing plus earning a whacking 20k / week i.e. Whittaker.
  2. What happens to your bet when you have a treble on but 1 match gets postponed and another abandoned 0-0 yet 3rd team wins?? I assume my stake is just a single on the one that wins??????? Had Birmingham (postponed), Boro (abandoned) and Arsenal (won). Other line, fuckin Bolton cost me! Blackburn, Bolton, Southampton, Reading.
  3. Always prefer this game at Anfield as its more of a battle then, usually at OT it can be boring and Utd will win. I am hoping Utd win this today and Villa get something off City tomorrow.
  4. If we get the Cousin who played in Lyon, Barca at home and that goal v Celtic in the last game then Id drive him to Ibrox myself....the Cousin in Florence no thanks, id drive in the opposite direction. Therefore it would have to come down to the deal he was on to get him in the mood to play. He is a monster and would rip that Celtic defence apart. Would really depend on his attitiude but if McCoist could get him to play well then id have him over Healy all day long. Remember when he scored that goal v Celtic he ran to McCoist as apprently it was Coistys plea to WS to play him that day so it may be that those 2 get on.
  5. While its in our own hands I always have to say yes but only if there is no repeat performances of last Sunday. If we were relying on Celtic to drop points elsewhere Id be a bit pessimistic at the moment although I do think their winning run will come to an end somewhere (Butcher may do a favour this weekend)....but as long as we win our games then we can still win it.
  6. Agree with that, a stronger assistant manager / coach with more experience could make a big difference.
  7. Who'd have thought it? An Italian leaving a sinking ship! This stinks of an agenda to get Redknapp the job after he was cleared of the tax issues. If the FA didnt want Capello to lead them to the Euro's they had to wait until Redknapps tax case was over but still act ASAP to give him the time he needs to prepare. Why was Suarez / Evra case held straight away but Ferdinand / Terry case deferred until July? Capello should have been involved in the FA meeting when they made the decision to drop Terry as captain. Those issues are a bit fishy for me. Footballing wise its still the best decision for England, Harry will bring the 'club team' atmosphere to the England set up and players will want to play for him more. He has always been a bit spoilt and wanted his own way and needed silly amounts of cash at the clubs he has been, now he doesnt need the cheque book because he can pick anyone he wants for the squad, its a dream job for Redknapp. I can see Jamie Redknapp being involved also. I never thought Capello was the right man for England, it was a bad appointment like Sven and McClaren all round, but I do think he has been bit unfairly treated here. Worst thing is under Harry I think England have a genuine chance at the Euro's now and its the first time since Venebles that they will be in with a real shout. Its also the first time since Venebles that they will have the right man in charge....thats if he gets it. Hope Stuart Pearce isnt involved, whilst I dont mind Harry I cant stand Pearce, absolute wank of a guy.
  8. 1 and 3 for sure, they are key. 1 relates to players and 3 relates to management. You dont need financial backing to have a good attitude, you need the backing of your manager and if he has belief in you then there is no excuse for a performance like last Sunday. As for tactics when McCoist looked after the Scottish Cup games under WS I thought when he eventually took over we'd see more of the same form the cup games i.e. a straight attacking 4-4-2 with players in correct positions, but McCoist has went backwards from WS's often baffling decisions. Difference is WS still got results and coudl make a change in a game but Ally just doesnt seem capable of doing this. Players make tactics rather than tactics make players, you cant expect a natural centre half to shine on the left wing of a 4-4-2, it just wont work. Look at how much stick Craig Moore used to get during 9IAR when WS played him midfield, then eyebrows were raised when Advocaat signed him back from Palace, yet he went onto become one of the best centre halfs we've had during the times Ive watched Rangers. So id say tactical changes are the top of that list at the moment because despite off field issues this is the one that is still well within control of the management and is the obvious one for poor performances. 2 is probably a cert but we dont watch training sessions so it would be guess work but it does seem soemthing has to change in training.
  9. Yeah coz he's done loads since he left Rangers!!! Would rather persevere with Healy. Boyd upfront and Papac left wing and we're down to 9 men.
  10. Absolutely. Had a pour attitude at times which let him down even when he went to Hull but no doubt he had talent. Would easy have him back upfront with Lafferty for the rest of the season, compare that to Healy and Kerkar! Still, the one we should have taken back was Kenny Miller or even Novo when he was linked.
  11. Id be looking at moving McCulloch back to his original position - upfront - for a few games while we are short, especially when Healy is our only option and hasnt performed well (even with no service). If we are going to lump high balls then McCulloch has more chance of winning them. Its far from ideal but it could work. Bartley is a good centre half or holding midfielder, I wouldnt send him back to Arsenal for playing poorly at RB. At RB, id be looking at trying Wallace there while Whittaker and Broadfoot are out. Full backs and wingers are capable of switching sides, Whittaker is far from my fave player but everytime Ive seen him play well its been when he covered at LB.
  12. Im actually wishing this was a league game to bounce back to, because I fancy us to do to Utd what we did to Hibs last week. Rangers 4-0 Dundee Utd Davis Aluko Celik Edu
  13. 9-0 to the champions:drink: But I'll have a tenner on 3-0.
  14. :surprised: U just ruined your post mate....unless you mean your dropping her off in the St Enoch centre at pub opening time
  15. As mentioned its not just his form that will be missed but his effort, he is one of those players who will give it 110% all the time. Time for someone to step up though. First thoughts are Bedoya as he is more a right sided player, but it could also be a terrific chance for Ortiz as he has drifted away since being fielded left wing, so if he is also more naturally right he has a chance to show us. McKay is still to break into the team and cant see him being the one to move in, even McCulloch has been brought back into the team ahead of him lately. But our numbers in midfield are there this season, Bartley and Ness are another two still to come back. The Naismith injury could have more affect upfront as he was probably still our 2nd / 3rd choice striker even if in midfield. Jelavic is first pick but then its between Lafferty and Naismith so our numbers upfront are really low.
  16. Always said he has talent but he wasted a few years with antics, wrong attitude and out of position. Now as a centre forward we see a player in him.
  17. Id say he is the best we've had since Prso. Overall if he stays long enough he might well start climbing up the ranks towards McCoist. There is no doubt the quality Jelavic has got, even when he looks a bit sluggish (possibly due to the injury) he is still miles ahead of any other striker in the country. His pace is deceiving and agree with the article he has the all round game. When he was out last season I remember saying when he returns he could be the man who blasts us to the title....he pretty much did that with winners at Hamilton etc but McGregors awesome performances are as much part of winning the title as Jelavics goals.
  18. Bougherra who??? Defence (without doubt includes McGregor) has probably went beyond expectations considering during the summer we were thinking it would maybe be Broadfoot and Papac lining up together, then there was the Cuellar "will he sign / wont he sign" debate. As Gav says the clean sheet stats are amazing. Still think Whittaker is a bombscare defending and careless all over the park. The only concern is the long term future of the defence. Bartley is on loan, Bocanegra is 33 (but probably has at least 2 years in him by the looks of things) and Weir is 41. Id say Goian will be one half of the centre partnership for the next 3-4 years but who with? Perhaps Papac can move into the centre again now we have Wallace and I have a feeling we will go back in for Cuellar at some stage. The other option of course is to put Whittaker into the middle, thats the only position he has impressed me but I wouldnt rule out the possibility of that success being down to playing next to Weir.
  19. Is that what those sports bra's are? I was maybe thinking it was a new design of bibs for 5-asides. Im hoping Hemmings can get 100% fit and we see him in action. With the striker dept being the area we are a bit short in Im looking forward to seeing him and think he has good potential. Quite an exciting prospect.
  20. My first thought was Albertz but I'll have a guess at someone who hasnt been named. Stuart Munro...(we know Frankie is a fan).....
  21. What is good about City right now is they have off field stuff with Tevez that they swept under the carpet and just got on with job in hand and showed no player is bigger than the club. Also Balotelli is a bit of a nutter off the park setting fireworks off in his house yet they play him and he scores. If Mancini holds that dressing room together they are going to take some stopping. This isnt a one of result, they went to Spurs and battered them 5-1 and I can only see Chelsea being capable of beating them at Stamford Bridge. Utd desperately need a world class midfielder. Once Vidic and Jones gel then their defence will be fine but Im still baffled about that 16 million quid goalkeeper who looks about as good as Massimo Taibi.
  22. Unbelievable scoreline. Man Utd's defence was appauling and I dont fancy being one of them this morning when they report for training. Fergusons selections have been a bit baffling in 2 massive games against Liverpool and Man City and its shown that they have only taken 1 point from 6 in those games. Cant work out why Evans was preferred to Jones, plus Vidic was reportedly dropped rather than injured. Rio Ferdinand is a shadow of his former self, he just doesnt look fit. The Man citys squad shown they are stronger than Utd all over the park. Better keeper, better defending and easily a better midfield. Bar Rooney Citys front line is miles better also. David Silva just oozes class. Was surprised that Milner was preferred to Nasri but it was a right decision then they have Toure, Barry and De Jong as holding players. I like Dzeko upfront he is like a young Shevchenko. Really cant see anyone stopping Man City to the title, Chelsea losing to QPR confirmed that to me. Arsenal gathering a bit of momentum now but still have a lot of work to do. Still think they are rocky at the back and missing a top midfielder....but what they do have is the best striker in Europe at the moment in Van Persie.
  23. Stats are no use for the current. I think Healy would do well if got a run in the team. He would probably have a Miller type record when he would score goals but not every game. Must admit, id like to see a bit more of the ulsterman.
  24. A season lasts until May and Jelavic is the key man, it was probably him that blasted us to the title last year when he came back, winner at Hamilton spring to mind. What gets to me is when players are not on form they are written off straight away....yet the likes of Naismith is being bummed up right now. Naismith took 4 years to get going and even last season he was hot for 2 months then faded a bit while Jelavic proved his quality throughout. Lets get off Jelavics back at the moment, he is the best striker in the SPL by a country mile hot or cold.
  25. Well Done Whyte. BBC are corrupt to the core and establishment fed from the very top. Biggest Manuipultive party in the country.
