  1. IMHO just a new "paint us bad" story. I simply will not believe that we bid less than the 400k we offered before - whatever the Swedes are saying.
  2. Methinks it is not the 850 per week (which rises to 4k if he plays) is the problem, but the 5-years involved. You would not want to play on the same conditions as a "18-year old first team pretender" at the age of 23 (Whittaker, Thomson, Davis, Edu, Lafferty et al are not much older, you know). Hardly anyone knows the details here and as long as he has a contract, we hold all the cards. If we get Bedoya and McKay in, possibly someone else too, we may speak again.
  3. Just out of interest, have any figures come out about arrests or even "offences" against this new unwritten law after the recent IRA-okes by our hooped neighbours? The real point remains that unless there is no "fixed" list of songs that can be aired without problem, it will be at the whim of the police and their match day commander to judge something inapproriate.
  4. Bedoya is signed up for January nonetheless. McKay has essentially signed, work permit permitting. The Wilson thing is on the agenda since an eternity. I wonder why no other EPL team want to snatch him up ...
  5. Regarding Juhasz it is up to you whom to believe. SSN say we gave up on him, yet the Evening Times has a different tune. Still some water to run down the Clyde till we will have heard the last of this ...
  6. Well, I read the bit of news in the local press and it says McCoist "might be interested". My initial response was, McCoist also might be interested in Fabregas, or Nasri, Rooney and Nani. We already have two 30+ strikers on our books, both I deem to be more lethal in front of goal than L¶venkrands. ANyways, we'll have Lopez and Rhys Murphy on trial over the weekend, maybe something comes out of that.
  7. So what did the Rangers do in the past to anger the Italian ... ? (Heck, we agreed not to babble along in this transfer rumour thread!)
  8. ... yet we've had essentially at the same time up to 3m set aside for Juhasz, 2m for Cuellar, 2m+ for Goodwillie, and nearly 2m for Verhoek, on top of the above. We also resigned our backbone of 3IAR. Maybe people will think this is all shadow talk and shadow money, but I for one have no reason to doubt our chairman just yet.
  9. You wonder with all those people at ManC, what they would want for Weiss as a straight buy. 7 first choice people plus Nasri out of my head alone.
  10. IMHO, Wallace is a first pick. As you can see from down south, the market starts to revolve more rapidly these days. As for Bedoya ... we've got Ortiz for that flank, so why the bother? Ortiz and Bedoya would be a fine right hand side IMHO, if we play Ortiz there, that is. I for one wouldn't be disappointed if we do not play over the odds for Bedoya, especially if you see what Orebr¶ want. L¶venkrands ... local rumour that grows arms and legs. It's as good as the wishes you find on e.g. FF. I start to worry or jump in joy if someone gets through the Murray Park gates ...
  11. Hm ... Kerkar is a left winger. Ortiz played as a left winger. Lafferty has been used there. Naismith has been used there. Wallace can be used there ... I do think they mistook left with right here.
  12. There better be no details, else the confidentiality of those involved needs to be questioned. How do they come up with the penalty, I wonder? Must be some interesting interest involved ...
  13. Lot's of international action. I do hope that we get the McKay deal done soonish now. The rumour front remains quite though, bar the odd repeat of Edu being targetted by Auxerre.
  14. With this leaked info, can't we send our lawyers out and harrass them for this ... and demand, say 2.7m in compensation? No really, what would any other company do if somesuch happens and see customers staying away, business partners look elsewhere and what have you?
  15. While I do also have the habbit of posting a few things aside from and in reply to rumours, let's try and keep this thread on topic and post the rumours in here ... while debating them elsewhere. Cheers!
  16. Any updates on this deal then?
  17. I would assume there's one pretty unhappy bunny down there in Anderlecht. First, his club renegged on what you would call a gentlemen's agreement, now Rangers supposedly switch targets.
  18. If only the papers wouldn't splash such silly and more often than not misleading headlines. Attention seeking at its finest and a sure way to get people (i.e. Rangers supporters) up in arms ... with essentially no real reason whatsoever. Whyte should ban them all for a while.
  19. It comes from early July, when the Express (methinks) mentioned that we are interested. We have not made a bid, nor has anyone else. Rest assured, the longer the transfer window is open, this or that low key EPL or Championship side will want to bolster their squad and sign him up for their benches. And they can easily match Mo'll's 1m valuation. There is, for some strange reason, a gross consensus across all boards that he would be a decent buy, but unless we make a bid, it is all just wishful thinking. As I said before, I'd have him before Goodwillie. On a sidenote, we'll still have Rhys Murphy on trial after the international week.
  20. No, that is what the papers headlines' were about. STV quoted the agent who said that all was fine and well with the money, but Anderlecht moved posts after seeing no need to sell him, raking in 18m for their striker. Anderlecht renegged on a verbal agreement with player and agent. See earlier posts. Strange things happened this summer. Miller's claim of us being "too late" - why was there need to go for the first club that showed up before the transfer window was even half open? United pushed through their deal with Goodwillie like there wasn't 5 weeks of the window remaining. Now Anderlecht moving posts. And for some reason, a disappointing amount of Bears still lie all blame at Rangers ...
  21. Looking at this ... West Ham? They sure got some parting shot cash for exiting the EPL, so given his latest form and the 2 years of his contract remaining ... how about 4m for this promising young striker? As has been said by Whyte (and you can look at history to see he's correct about it), the English clubs do most of their dealings (maybe not the grand deals, but the majority) from the second week of August onwards, sometimes for silly money. Not that there seem to be many reasonable fees down there in England. Thus we will see some more interesting stuf being written. As for Verhoek and Juhasz, we'll have to wait and see. Let's sign up the Australian first and foremost, snatch Jamie Murphy up ere he's part of any late bid from England and look what we can get elsewhere.
  22. So by the looks of it, we might have Juhasz and McKay signed up today. McCoist and McDowell were at Motherwell yesterday, hopefully to check out the Jamie version of Murphy.
  23. I could dig up the list of how transfers happen again. People should realize that wanting a player is just the first step along the road. Others make that step too and if Verhoek or whomever decides that his destination lies elsewhere, it is by no means certain that it is our fault. But for some, the world only revolves around Rangers and all that happens is either our success, or our failure. Get those glasses off, folk ...
  24. Or so says the ever-reliable twitter, I gather? And, as is common knowledge, he grew up supporting Forest ...
  25. The Mail on Sunday seems to say that we have taken 18 year-old Gullermo Andres Lopez of Villareal on trial for a week, with a possible loan deal being the idea behind it. (snatched from FF)
