  1. If the other thread about our playing in the 1st division is correct and we have to incur the Oldco football debts and fines as well as the waiving of rights to a legal challenge (presume transfer embargo remains in place then), would this team be able to compete, knowing that we will face suspensions and injuries over the course of the season without being able to reinforce? We may have a reasonable core of players remaining, but beyond the names mentioned above, are any of the youngsters good enough to take the step up to senior football. Surely "sporting integrity"works both ways, and if we are losing 10 players (so far) who have exercised their rights to be free agents, we must then be able to replace those players (even if we are restricted to Bosman's).
  2. Why the secrecy in respect of the backers? I could understand Green not wanting to divulge this prior to the CVA being agreed/rejected because of the HMRC issue, but now that we have a newco, why would anyone have any objection to being named? For the record, I would love for any true Rangers man (Yes I know all about the track record of the two previous 'Rangers' men that owned the club!) to buy the newco from Green, but like everyone else, I am sick to death of all of the talking in the media. If you are serious about buying the club John, then get on the phone to Green and agree on a price!
  3. Could someone explain to me the following: 1. Why do D&P need to remain as adminstrators when BDO are going to handle the liquidation process? 2. Surely BDO could handle the administration as well as the liquidation, or is there a perceived conflict of interest? 2. Does D&P have any role to play with regards to Newco, or is this entirely the CG consortium's show going forward? To say that I am crushed, heartbroken and devastated with the HMRC decision would be a huge understatement.
  4. Any idea as to when the appeal committee will reconsider their verdict? Sorry if I have missed this elsewhere.
  5. Thanks GA, was not aware of that. Does the Rangers TV only broadcast home games then?
  6. Thanks Craig, I'll take a look and let you know how he gets on. Yes I am in insurance, and do a lot of work with Lloyd's.
  7. Although I hate the idea of supporting anything to do with the SFA, such as participating in the cups, without European income we will have no choice but to look at every possible additional revenue stream. However, I also feel we need to make a statement to the other clubs that have been quick to put the boot into us, at our time of need. For any away matches, both cup and SPL (should we retain our status), why can't we have the huge screens up at Ibrox broadcasting the match? We could get 10 - 15,000 fans spending their money at Ibrox rather than be ripped off at Dundee Utd/Aberdeen/Hibs etc. You may have people arguing that we would be further alienating ourselves from the remainder of the SPL/ Scottish league clubs, but I think we have found that we don't have any friends in Scottish football anyway, so why not pump the money back into Rangers, rather than poxy two-bit clubs that hate us. With regards to the kids, I think that Ness is definitely the real deal and I just hope that he can overcome his injury problems. McCabe looks a good prospect and was brilliant in his first game against Septic, but I would initially be reluctant to play the pair of them together as our central midfield pairing without some experience (Davis or Edu) alongside. McKay scored a great goal on debut but may be a bit light weight and probably needs to bulk up. Overall, I would love to see some of the youngsters in all of the games, but not all of the youngsters in some of the games. Hope that Ally has the option of keeping most of the experienced players and can then selectively decide when to bring through the kids.
  8. He's 14 tomorrow and I only want him to do it if it is going to be beneficial to him. I get to London a couple of times a year on business and was in 2 minds as to see if I could get him into something similiar at West Ham or Fulham while I do the rounds at Lloyd's. Obviously, the reason for having any exposure to Rangers was in the hope that someone there sees something in him - and seeing as we can only sign under 18's, who knows! Thanks for the comments, much appreciated.
  9. Hi all Looking for some advice here. Has anyone put their kids through the Rangers 'Soccer' School and is it worthwhile? My youngster is a really good footballer and despite only being to Scotland once in his life, he is as passionate about Rangers as anyone on here. I was thinking of putting him into the residential camp and then taking in a match at the end of the week. Thoughts?
  10. Thanks for the welcome, much better than on FF, where if you have less than 10,000 posts you must be a tim!
  11. Hi bluezulu, I left home as a youngster and have lived in South Africa for almost thirty years. The only other person I can remember from Stewarton is Stevie Naismith!
  12. Hi all, first time poster from Durban in South Africa, by way of Stewarton! Being away from home, I am reliant on internet sites and Sky Sports for updates on the situation. I am sure that all overseas bears will agree that without the updates from yourselves, we would be even more in the dark (if that's possible, given the uncertainty on the situation!) I agree that the current squad is strong enough to compete for trophies, but my understanding is that if we achieve a CVA, we can then extend contracts. If we go into a Newco, then there is no absolute confirmation that the contracts can just be transferred from the old company. Also it would only be if we exit admin through a CVA will we be allowed to compete in Europe. Here's hoping that the creditors agree to the CVA and we can start to focus on the football again!
