I'd imagine most people who regularly pay to watch Rangers would like to see performances improve and for us to win whatever silverware is still obtainable.

We've been poor for months and new recruits have been needed.

I'd imagine most people who regularly pay to watch Rangers would like to see a team that can be competitive in the League next season.

Beale has often mentioned "over the next two transfer windows". Personally, I think it is about having a squad going into next season (good squads win leagues) whilst 90 minutes at Hampden is anyone's game.

Football supporters tend to want cake all the time and our support in particular, have been spoilt in this regard for so long, we think it normal. We are also used to continuous loss making which is no longer viable.

It wasn't viable before and that eventually caught up with us.

There's something strange about this. Why pay €2m for a player you can get for free in 5 months (effectively 4 months as we don't play in June)? Did he refuse to sign a pre-contract? He's obviously keen to come to us so I can't see it.

Especially when the player would stand to get a cut of monies saved.

If we were in a title race (direct entry CL money) then yes, but we aren't.

I'd spend the money on him, personally I'm fed up of hearing fans say the league is gone, is it fuck.

Even if we don't turn it round, we need to claw it back, even if Tenko only win it by a couple of points, we need to build for next season off the back of that, compete, leave a bit on them, and come back stronger.

We need a lot of things but we are going to have to learn that money doesn't grow on trees.

UPDATE RASKIN: After Rangers' 2nd and 3rd bids were rejected in the weekend, Standard and the Scots found an agreement (broadly speaking) late last night. Transfer is basically completed today.

    Alternative translation

    SL want 1M

    R: 1st bid 500k

SL want 1M and know R under pressure to land NR

    R: how about 650k

    SL: Naw

    R: 750k

SL: No,  we know you want him and that you will end up paying price, get on with it.

Disclaimer: Not ITK, just made up BS.

Failed a medical at millwall supposedly so we probably are.

Might mean a January sale discount, if Hibs are desperate. Perhaps upstairs want the money but I doubt the manager wants to lose their goalscorer (on top of Boyle injury).

As a club, they are all over the place. Not unlike Aberdeen.

A cautionary tale for US (style) ownership and Scottish football ?

  6. The inevitable win but performance still lacking.

A lot of enthusiasm without cohesion from individuals who were understandably rusty or not sure where others were going to be.

The ballers, Tillman and Cantwell seemed more interested in effort than doing what we need them to.

Tillman was excellent at winning the ball back from the opposition. Cantwell needs minutes but can't help think Lowry could be doing the same.

The fiesta moves on. Hearts in Edinburgh will be an interesting test.

January transfer window is always like this. Beale seemed content at the pre-match press conference and said the two players everyone is talking about, aren't the only 2 players we are in for.

FWIW I think we'll get at least another player in before the window closes. No solid information, just a gut feeling.

If we don't, whilst I'll be disappointed it's not the end of the world. Given our finances the signings need to be the right ones, not just signing players for the sake of signing them.

I also feel Alfie and / or Kent's situation will go the way of Goldson. Run their current deal down and as not to break the pay structure, given a "signing on" fee.

It will soon be February and what will be, will be.

Happy to see Kent again, but prefer that Alfredo plays his last game at Ibrox today.

    The budget is huge now.

Big money renewals for Kent and Morelos. Big money transfer fee for Raskin.

After the budget has been used we can speculate to accumulate.

For a good while we operated like that, the result of which is continual loss making. Since 2015, we have continued to do so, but within a strategic plan of constructive losses. Now it has to stop.

The habit / expectation is difficult for the support to shake.

A kind of cold turkey follows on from the piggybank replacing warchest.
