  1. Not really. We have a loan watch thread now and again, but that's not often.
  2. Yeah... he's actually p*sh. Bullet dodged.
  3. Is that who you meant? He's not a #10, IMO. He should be given a run of games as a #9. I've been saying that since he signed.
  4. German and World Cup football legend Franz Beckenbauer has died aged 78. In a statement, his family said: "It is with deep sadness that we announce that my husband and our father, Franz Beckenbauer, passed away peacefully in his sleep yesterday, Sunday, surrounded by his family," the family said. "We ask that you be able to grieve in silence and refrain from asking any questions." https://news.sky.com/story/franz-beckenbauer-german-football-legend-dies-aged-78-13044240
  5. You can never have enough of those types, possessing real quality, for me. Obviously, you still want a goalscorer. I get the impression PC likes those quick, versatile players. They're raw, athletic players that a good coach can mould (Gelhardt had a good spell under Bielsa, who similarly likes that type of player, for example).
  6. Gelhardt's a wonderful player; strong, quick, good dribbler and his build-up play - in the right system (Bielsa) - is superb. He is not a goalscorer, but can play anywhere across the front-three and #10. An option to buy would be superb. He has the potential to go for a lot of money down the line. A straight loan? Nope. We shouldn't be developing players for other teams.
  7. You know you're getting old when your footballing hero's contract is housed in a museum...
  8. We have a Rangers forum for Rangers stuff - your parking post is fine there. We have a General Football forum for world football stuff - your VAR post is covering wider VAR issues in football. We have the Bluenose Lounge for non-football related stuff, politics etc. We have Forum Support for ... forum support issues.
  9. I've moved the thread to the general football forum.
  10. So, basically how it was before VAR.
  11. Did anyone here see Riquelme? I wish I had.
  12. Doig has started this half very well. Dumfries has shat it.
  13. Big Denzel is a handful for anyone, but he keeps letting him get the run on him.
  14. Doig doesn't look that great, from the little I've seen today. He's actually made a couple of mistakes.
  15. Deliberate or not. Can you say with 100% accuracy that x, y, or z handled the ball accidentally or deliberately. That's an example of a subjective hand ball. For what it's worth, I think Johnstone handled it accidentally. A penalty still should have been awarded (and then rescinded as Sima was offside). You and I are disagreeing on this incident, suggesting that there's a level of subjectivity to it. VAR won't remove subjectivity from the game; there are too many instances where it's up to the subjectivity of the referee. (I don't disagree with your thoughts on the incompetence of our set-up.)
  16. No worries.
  17. This is not the place to discuss politics.
  18. He was given a red circle, not an old-fashioned card. Game's gone. Unwatchable.
  19. Sunderland want Lammers?! What kind of idiot is in charge of Sund-- Oh.
  20. That's harsh. Hartson's barely got two braincells to rub together.
  21. You're talking nonsense. They got closer to the correct decision.
  22. There's not much contact according to you, and there are about 5 players in his eyeline, so it's not outwith the realms of possibility.
  23. Maybe he didn't see the contact. There's not much contact, but there is contact. You're basically just having a go at the referee for missing it. Fair enough. He should have seen it, but it happens. I don't know why you're using this instance to have a go at VAR, though - it did its job.
  24. I can only say it so many times: sometimes Referees miss things; they're human. It makes sense to have VAR to identify things they miss.
