He's not 'playing wide'. He's playing as part of a front-two; one of them has to drift when the ball is at their side. When he's really out of position, he's just covering for others, as he should.

A FB should not be behind the CB. Goldson's playing him on.

I don't think Piroe is a pure striker, like Toney and Maupey. The Watkins comparison is more apt, I think. But, you're right: we should be signing them before their breakthrough. Saying that, he's only got a year left on his contract...

I can't find a table of conversion rates to compare, but Piroe has a 9.2% conversion rate with the highest in the league having around 14%. Haaland's conversion rate is 23.3%; Kane is 16.4%. If you look at team conversion rate, Burnley and Middlesbourough (the highest scorers in the league) have an 11.8% conversion rate. Sheff Utd, who are second, have a 9.1% conversion rate. I don't think Piroe's conversion rate is that bad; it's not spectacular. Piroe's xG is 15.2, including 2 penalties, so I'd say he's scoring as many as he should be scoring; He's maybe under-performing a little. He scored 22 goals from an xG of 12.2 last season which is a huge over-performance; perhaps not sustainable. Bare in mind that he has played 10 games as a winger and #10. A back-three going forward... Interesting. Clearly Souttar has been on our radar for a while for his attributes. Sounds like Morelos is offski. I'm a little disappointed that MB wants Kent to stay, though. Barisic performing better because of the competition. Good chat.

Wilson needs to be more ruthless in moving players on for decent money, even if some fans are up in arms. In Morelos' case, every time we got a rumour of a move there were numerous posts saying he was too important to us and the bid wasn't high enough, etc. We've now missed the boat to cash in. Fortunately, he only cost £1M; we've certainly got our money's worth.

I thought Ridvan's cameo was quite good. It'll obviously take him a while to get up to speed, but I like the look of his style of play. Barasic is effective but mainly a crosser, which is not the best skill set for us because we play against a lot of teams that park the bus; it plays into their hands a lot of the time.
