Another thought (oh, yes, there was a distinct rattle in the old napper this am): everyone talks about a profitable player development and trading model, which is important -vital, even- but if Ancelotti Minor is appointed, and is successful, it is likely he will be offski to higher status, more lucrative, pastures. How quickly would depend on his actual, and perceived, successes. (In fact, this would be true of any manager/coach.) Hence, there is, surely, a requirement to develop coaches: smooth, seamless, controlled, transitions being preferable to crunching the gearbox. It may be necessary, through failure, to redd out the off field staff, but, of course, the Club is in control of that kind of process, which it wouldn't be when some 'super club' offers to treble salaries, unless a line of succession is in place.
